RenKana is the het ship between Kyojuro Rengoku and Kanae Kocho from the Demon Slayer fandom.
Canon[]
Kanae and Kyojuro are both part of the Demon Slayer Corps and hold the title of Hashira. Kanae is the Flower Hashira, while Kyojuro is the Flame Hashira. However, despite this they do not meet nor interact with each other. This is due to Kyojuro becoming a Hashira after Kanae's death. They do however both seem to have a close relationship with Shinobu.
Kyojuro can Kanae share a few similarities, such as being deemed as kind and being older siblings. Kanae has one younger sister and one younger adopted sister, Shinobu and Kanao. Kyojuro has a younger brother named Senjuro. They also lost a parent at a young age. For Kanae this was both of her parents, while for Kyojuro this was only his mother.
The two also both came across an upper rank demon when they were out on a mission, and ended up dying. Kyojuro came across Akaza, while Kanae came across Doma. Both of them fight against the upper ranks until sunrise. Due to the sun rising both Akaza and Doma left them behind gravely injured. Kanae and Kyojuro then both left last words to those at their side before they died of their injuries.
In the Kimetsu Academy spin-off series, Kanae and Kyojuro can be seen in the same room together in some of the scenes. In this series they are both teachers, along with most of the other Hashira. Kanae is the biology teacher while Kyojuro is the history teacher.
Fanon[]
RenKana is a rarepair in the fandom, as the two don't share any interactions at all. However, despite it being a rarepair it still has a decent amount of fans.
They are shipped due to Kanae and Kyojuro both having a younger sibling, them having a good relationship with Shinobu and their other shared similarities.
Some fans think they would've gotten along very well if they met and become close friends. Due to this, modern AUs where they met as normal people have become popular with the ship.
In many pieces of the fan works, Kyojuro and Kanae are seen with three children. RenKana is partially rivaled with RenShino, RenMitsu and SaneKana. In some fan works, Mitsuri is seen trying to help Kyojuro confess to Kanae, and sometimes there are others in the background of images of fanart, like Shinobu being overprotective of her elder sister.
Fans also love to create headcanons for them, like that Kyojuro liked Kanae and wanted to confess to her after the mission against Douma. Other headcanons that are circulating are that if Kanae had survived she would have married Kyojuro, another one is that the two went on missions together. However, as mentioned, these are just headcanons that have been spread around.
