Season 2[]
After meeting him in the first episode, Riya is initially impressed by Yul with how much he has done at a young age.
In the "Kiss-a-thon" challenge, Riya and Yul are unlucky enough to be the first two selected for a kissing task. Riya hesitates, but Connor encourages her by telling her to think of it as acting for a scene. Yul, clearly uncomfortable, recoils and asks her to make it quick. Though neither are happy about it, they go through with the kiss and score a point for their team. Immediately afterward, Riya is seen projectile vomiting in the confessional, disgusted by the kiss with Yul. When Kristal announces a game twist, revealing that the team will be voting again, Yul glares at Connor and Riya, saying he knows exactly who his alliance will be voting for.
In "Truth Hurts," Riya finds an advantage that allows her to swap a member of the Green Team with a member of the Orange Team. She immediately chooses Yul to leave the Green Team, fed up with him and knowing he wanted to vote her and Connor out. Yul fires back, telling her it's no surprise she hasn't and will never succeed with her bad attitude. In the confessional, Yul bitterly calls Riya a "low-budget actress" and warns that she's underestimating the damage he can still cause, even from a different team.
In "Money, Fame and Shame," Yul roots for Riya after Aiden is eliminated and is annoyed when James wins.
All Stars[]
In "Reach for the Stars," during an interview, Riya confidently claims that she would have won Season 2 if she had chosen Yul or Karol as her partner instead of Connor. Later, when Grett and Yul reveal they’ve started dating, Riya laughs in disbelief and bluntly asks Yul, "Aren't you gay?" By the end of the episode, both Riya and Yul are placed on the Yellow Team.
In "Gone Buck Wild," Riya mocks Yul, along with the rest of their team, for not dressing more appropriately for the elements.
In "H2Oh-No!" with the team cold and wet in the tent, Yul mocks Riya when she starts complaining yet again about not winning the reward in the last challenge. Frustrated, Riya grabs Yul by the hair, issuing him his "first warning," until Connor steps in to break it up. Surprisingly, for the first time, Riya agrees with Yul—telling Connor to stay out of it.
Later, after their team places second in another challenge, Riya complains once more about not winning. Yul snaps back, saying Riya performed poorly and that they were lucky to even secure second place. Riya, unfazed, threatens him again, but this time Yul pushes Grett in front of him, telling her to smack Riya instead. Both Grett and Riya stand frozen in shock at Yul's unexpected move.
In "Sandbag Sabotage," Riya and Yul are summoned to the coast by Alec, along with Grett, Ellie, and Fiore. When Alec proposes an alliance, Yul immediately rejects the idea, scoffing, "I'm not aligning with this 'Bollywood reject,'" while pointing his thumb at Riya. Quick to respond, Riya fires back, saying that if Yul were smart, he’d jump at the chance to ally with her, and she adds that it was already embarrassing enough that he got booted early last time. With some convincing from Grett, Yul is the last to reluctantly agree to join the alliance.
In the confessional, Yul dismissively refers to Riya as "curry girl" and admits he’s not even sure if he’s getting her name right, but says he’s going to play along because Alec’s plan actually makes sense.
In "The Turbulent Triathlon," Riya reveals in a confessional that she voted for Yul instead of Miriam in the last episode, aiming to make Yul paranoid and trick him into believing that Connor was the one who voted against him. Her plan works perfectly, as Yul becomes fixated on targeting Connor, now determined to send him home.
In "Strike a Chord," in the musical challenge, Yul is assigned the role of leader and performs surprisingly well with Riya, as they sing together and play guitar. However, things take a turn when the circuit boxes overload, causing the stage to be destroyed. As their team scrambles to escape, Yul lets out a yelp as a stage light crashes onto his foot. After the challenge, the team's villains decide to target Connor for elimination. Riya, unfazed, remarks that they can't afford to lose any more members, or their team will consist solely of their alliance.
Frustrated, Yul angrily snaps at Riya, blaming her for the team's loss and storming off to ice his injured foot. Riya, showing little concern, dismissively tells him to tread lightly and delivers his "second warning," maintaining her sharp attitude despite the tension.
In "Ball Busters," in the morning, when Grett asks where Yul is, Riya and Alec take the opportunity to mock him for his constant whining. Later, during the challenge, as a ball hurtles toward their team’s gate, Riya panics and instinctively puts Yul in front of her, letting him take the hit. Yul is knocked down, but Riya is pleased with herself for successfully blocking the ball. Alec, laughing, sarcastically suggests that Yul should play human shield for them, while Yul fumes in anger.
As the challenge continues, Alec drops a log in front of the gate to deflect another assault, and when he jokingly asks Riya to give Yul's face a break, she can’t help but be amused by the ongoing mockery.
In "Give Me Some Space!" Riya tries to take charge of the team, but Yul immediately challenges her by asking, "Who died and made you team captain?" Riya confidently replies that she just filmed a space epic, so she knows what she’s doing. Grett chimes in, reminding everyone they lost the challenge the last time Riya used that reasoning. Yul adds that they also almost lost a foot in the process. Riya groans, telling Yul to just get over it. Annoyed, Yul proposes Alec as the leader, justifying it by calling Alec a nerd. As Riya and Yul continue to glare at each other, the tension builds as they walk through the space capsule.
Later, when deciding who should go up the capsule with wind blowing up from it, Alec nominates Yul after Yul makes yet another joke about Grett’s weight, and Riya eagerly seconds the nomination. The two excitedly place Yul inside before Riya, grinning, flips the switch to power it on. After Yul grabs the clue, Riya enthusiastically turns off the air, causing Yul to fall hard to the floor. She shares a laugh with Alec, both clearly enjoying Yul’s misfortune.
In "Slip & Sly," At the start of the episode, Riya pulls Grett aside for a private conversation as the Yellow Team enjoys their beach day reward. She expresses her disgust at how Yul has been treating Grett, calling his behavior despicable. Riya encourages Grett to stand up for herself and not let Yul continue to belittle her.
In "Hungry Like the Wolf," as Riya and Yul observe Connor attempting to unite the emerging Heroes Alliance, their irritation grows. They exchange glances and comment on how Connor will be out of the game when he loses his Immunity. Their shared skepticism highlights their belief that Connor's efforts are futile and that his position in the game is precarious.
In "No Vacancy," Riya refers to Yul as a "disadvantage" when she discovers he will be her helper in the finale.
Fanon[]
The ship between Riya and Yul isn't popular much at all due to their popularity within the Disventure Camp community. A small majority of the fandom ships them as both treated their exes badly and are both considered to be awful people, thinking they would be a match for each other.
