Ribbun is the het ship between Gangle and Jax from the The Amazing Digital Circus fandom.

Canon

Jax and Gangle have an extremely rocky relationship with Gangle being the victim of Jax's constant bullying and shameless disrespect. It's unclear what influenced this relationship between them, but it is suggested with the guidance of an official statement from the author of the indie series, Gooseworx, that Gangle's weak and vulnerable personality makes her an easy target for Jax's sadistic tactics.

Pilot

When Pomni arrives at the circus during the circus crew's theme song, she causes everyone to tumble to the ground in a domino effect accidentally. The impact left Gangle's comedy mask on the floor and split in half. Jax nonchalantly walks over the already damaged mask and breaks it into pieces, much to Gangle's despair. He declares that she and Kinger should team up together to pursue in the search of Zooble, who had recently been carried away by rogue gloinks. Gangle and Kinger leave Jax behind with Pomni and Ragatha to visit Kaufmo with the intent of introducing him to Pomni.

Jax ultimately ditches the women when discovering Kaufmo's shocking abstraction. He catches up to Gangle and Kinger, who announce that they have discovered Zooble's location. When Jax is questioned about Kaufmo's whereabouts, he forcefully equips a calm tone and lies that Kaufmo is in good condition. Along with this statement, he claims that the clown asked him to give Kinger the bowling ball Jax scooped up in his escape. He shamelessly thrusts the ball towards Kinger, the object clashing into the older man and causing Gangle's ribbons to get caught around his body and dragged into the pit with him. Jax follows shortly after them.

The trio are seen drifting down an enormous, twisting slide that leads to the Gloink Queen's home. The abstracted Kaufmo doesn't fail to catch up with them; the clown plummets atop the Gloink Queen and ruthlessly beats her. From there is when Jax decides to tell the truth to Gangle and earn utter shock from the latter. With their adventure being considered completely and with the retrieval of Zooble, everyone proceeds towards an escalator to leave. Jax offers Gangle step up to the stairs first out of chivalry. Quickly realizing that this is out of character for him, he recklessly shoves Gangle aside and onto the ground before riding the escalator himself.

The entire circus crew is soon reforged with Kaufmo being sent to the cellar. Jax complains about his sudden appetite, and Gangle points out that he hadn't done anything productive to gain such hunger. Jax, nonetheless, declares he can still be hungry despite this. Towards the ending scene showcasing the players feasting together at a luxurious table, Jax and Gangle are seen inaudibly arguing with each other.

Candy Carrier Chaos!

The crew (excluding Zooble) head out into a candy adventure to retrieve the candy kingdom's beloved maple syrup from the criminal trio, Gummy Gang. Jax excitedly hops into the truck given to them for their quest, but his eagerness is swiftly shattered by the deformed sound of the horn. Now upset, he commands that Gangle drives instead. With everyone inside, the gang takes off to pursue their goal. Jax proposes a plan to Gangle; he clarifies that once Gangle catches up to the criminals, he'll invade their truck and blast them repeatedly with his shotgun.

Gangle shyly protests that this could validate a certain convention, but Jax continues to boss her around. Finally discovering the Gummy Gang, the criminal trio drive their own vehicle in an attempt at a getaway. Jax, now excited for violence, claims that Gangle should ram into the opposing truck. He refuses to take no as an answer (much to Ragatha's anger) and blackmails Gangle into obeying by threatening he'll leak Gangle's "figurine thing" to Ragatha. Gangle proceeds to ram into the Gummy Gang's truck without hesitation. When the enemy truck sprouts spikes to prevent further collision, Jax uses it as a devious excuse to leak Gangle's secret much to her horror.

The two trucks eventually crash, and the circus crew are sent falling down a pit of chocolate goo. Jax bluntly blames Gangle for their failure before they both dive into the river.

Jax – “Alright Gangle, when we catch up to 'em, I'll jump over, crawl inside, and shoot 'em repeatedly until they're unrecognizable!”

Gangle – “I feel like that'd violate some kind of convention.”

Jax – “You're violating my ears with your clap-back. Get driving, driver!”

Jax – “Ooh, now we're cookin'! Hey! Ribbons! Up and at 'em!”

Gangle – “I don't think we-”

Gangle - "Op, hahahaha!"

-Jax threatens Gangle by saying he's going to tell Ragatha about the figurine thing."

Jax – “Aww, no more ramming? Guess I HAVE to tell Ragatha about the figurine thing now.”

Fanon

Ribbun is a popular ship within the fandom. Some fans find their Enemies to Lovers trope endearing given that Gangle is the victim of Jax's repetitive bullying. Some depict Jax having a one-sided crush on Gangle and activating the classic gag where the bully harasses the person they're attracted to to mask their feelings. More commonly, humorous fanart has Gangle being Jax's sidekick in a multitude of events. A famous trend depicts Gangle reaching her breaking point and snapping at Jax for the stress he's inflicted on her. Some headcanon or predict to become a Canon event in future episodes.

Additionally, they believe it may take place in the fourth episode, where Gangle is the manager of Spudsy's and is the boss of Jax, an employee.

The ship is rivaled with Jagatha, FunnyBunny, and Abstragedy.
