RikaNei is the femslash ship between Rika Kawai and Neiru Aonuma from the Wonder Egg Priority fandom.
Canon[]
Neiru first learns about Rika from Ai, and she immediately takes a disliking to her because of her brash and seemingly selfish outer exterior. Distaste is shown on her face when she talks about how Rika is trying to save her "wallet".
Rika goes along with Ai to go visit Neiru in the hospital in episode 3. They walk into Neiru speaking with her doctor, and Rika interrupts him, saying the girl are still in their youth. Neiru face seems unimpressed, and the three sit down to snack on fruits. The blonde presents herself with the association of the word "Kawaii", but Neiru dismisses the idea impassively. Contemplating for a moment, Rika concludes that she is a 'tsundere', then immediately suggest they form a unit. The proposition is brushed off as well. Undeterred, Rika tries convincing Neiru to join the group, though she is, again, rejected.
In episode 5, they meet again in Ai's house with her friends, and Neiru regards her as shameless as Rika is begging for more cake. When the four are talking about parents, Rika mentions how men are proud and a "capable woman" spoils them. Saying that, she looks at Neiru with the latter asking why she is looking at her. Rika brushes it off, saying its her turn, while Neiru narrows her eyes and calls her an "anachronistic fool". Angered, Rika leaps at Neiru, and she further provokes her by calling her a fool again. Switching tactics, Rika suddenly starts tickling the black-haired girl with a smug expression. Neiru struggles to hold in her laughter, before Rika shifts to a different spot, earning her a loud and genuine laugh from the normally reserved girl.
After leaving the arcade, the four friends are sprawled on a picnic carpet when Rika suggests they stop buying eggs. She admits that Chiemi's death may have been her fault, but she shouldn't need to die. Hearing this, Neiru responds calmly that Ai's impression of Rika was all an act. To this, Rika fiercely denies it, saying that she was a woman who could get swept up in her emotions. Composing herself, she confesses that she does feel guilty, but shouldn't be held responsible for Chiemi's actions. When Neiru turns to leave, Rika shouts that Neiru would be willing to risk her life for someone "selfish" enough to die.
In the Wonder Egg Priority Special, Ai and Rika watch Neiru's dream; Kotobuki explains that she had built a 'better' AI version of Airu, and that she had likely gotten jealous and stabbed Neiru. Rika refuses to go help save Neiru, claiming that she doesn't want to die for a machine.
Fanon[]
Despite Neiru disliking Rika's arrogant nature at the start, they are shown to agree on occasional topics, with Rika's more cheerful and outgoing personality shining through. Rika's bold and excited personality pair with Neiru's subtle and calm disposition are a match that many fans think could grow into something more. Neiru doesn't seem to actually mind Rika's cocky personality that much.
Their interactions together can point to a slight Rivals-to-Lovers trope, and fans explore the idea of Rika getting Neiru to loosen up more, and conversely, Neiru helping Rika understand herself more. Stories with an angstier theme could include mentions of Rika's suicidal tendencies, or Neiru's "sister". However, they both have soft moments together, and fanarts have drawn on Rika teasing Neiru until she blushes. A popular headcanon for Rika is that she bisexual, as she talks about both genders blatantly, judging many people on their looks.
It is a notably new ship in the fandom, as there aren't many fanarts or fanfictions made for Rika or Neiru. Opposing ships are Ai x Neiru, Rika x Momoe, and AiRika. The Wonder Egg Priority fandom is relatively small, and doesn't have as many fans, hence the low popularity of many ships.
