Rodger x Research is the cargo ship between Rodger and research from the Dandy's World fandom.

Research is a progression mechanic in Dandy's World that is a must to be obtained in order to get certain Toons and Trinkets. Research can be gained in two ways, which are by picking up research capsules as well as encountering Twisteds.
Rodger is a male non-event regular Toon resembling a magnifying glass. He has a passive ability that allows him to gain twice the research from picking up research capsules and encountering Twisteds.
When picked up, research capsules grant the player research on certain Twisteds that are in the current floor. Additionally, it also gives the player Ichor, which is an in-game currency. As players progress into higher floors, research capsules will spawn more per floor.
In the "Purchase Ichor" menu where players can buy Ichor by spending robux, Rodger is seen holding (fake) research capsules, with him holding one for 300 Ichor in exchange for 75 robux, four for 1500 Ichor in exchange for 375 robux, nine for 3150 Ichor in exchange for 750 robux, and Rodger holding up one research capsule while drowning in Ichor for 5500 Ichor in exchange for 1250 robux.

Rodger x Research is a considerably popular ship. This is because of the fact that Rodger's passive and only ability is centered around collecting research. In fan content, Rodger is often seen doing anything to get research, regardless if it costs his life or not. This includes running straight into Twisteds as well as using airhorns to gain aggro from them. Because of this, fans picture Rodger mains as a "completely different species."
Additionally, when new Toons are released, it's a very common occurrence for Dandy's World players to become Rodger and then go on runs in order to collect more research. As a result, fans often draw Twisteds, specifically Main Character Twisteds, hiding from Rodger. Even more, some draw the Twisteds being chased by Rodger instead of them chasing after Rodger. If Main Character Twisteds don't appear during Main Hunts that a Rodger is participating in, other players will (jokingly) blame it on them, saying they scared the Main Twisteds away.
Regarding the 'Main Hunt' runs, due to how many players play Rodger and join the runs in order to get all the research on Twisteds and especially for Main Twisteds, rumours started to spread regarding his character. A very popular rumour in the community is that Rodger decreases the chances of Main Twisteds spawning if he's in a run. Qwel, the main developer of Dandy's World, had to actually come out and say the the rumours are false.[1]
This is one of the most popular cargo ships out there in the community. It is usually shipped alongside Sprout x Tapes, Dandy x Tapes, Teagan x Tapes, and Blot x Tapes. It is usually seen in a humorous and ironic light due to the fact that Rodger quite literally lives in a Capsule himself in his twisted version, or from the absurdity of the ship.
