Rodrina is the het ship between Regina George and Rodrick Heffley from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Mean Girls fandoms.

Regina George and Rodrick Heffley haven't met each other because they are both from two different movies and creators. Rodrick Heffley is from the Diary of the Wimpy Kid book series and Regina George is from the Mean Girls movie.
However, despite the limitations the couple does have potential. There are some similarities between Rodrick and Regina to work off with. They both play the role of antagonists in their films and also go to high school, although at different levels. Both also appear to have similar aspects in their personalities having bad and heavy attributes, or relating to the themes of fame or popularity. Both protagonists also have the tendencies to be bullies.

Fanon[]
Rodrina is a new ship that blew up in 2025. Unlike other crack ships its origin are clear. It all started with a fanart of the two of them together with the caption, "I MIGHT be a genius", by the artist monia_lynn on Instagram and TikTok. This has started a chain all over social media where fans would create more discussion about the two and find new similarities between the two characters. Due to this, a lot of people started to geniunely like the ship which has only gained more traction towards it.
People immediately began praising the couples potential with fan art and edits, primarily using scenes from both films that seem to have the same context. Most agree it would be a kind of Hate-Love or Enemies-to-Lovers scenario. Many say Regina would hate to like him and would dedicate several entries in Burn Book to him, while Rodrick would write songs about her and dedicate them to her.
Regina would ask Rodrick to keep their relationship a secret so as not to damage her image, and Rodrick would love to tease her. They would both do eyeliner on each other, even though there are fan art pieces depicting it. Another very common theme in fan art is Rodrick covered in lipstick thanks to Regina. A very popular headcanon is that Rodrick is Janice's cousin. Many also emphasize the fact that Regina is Rodrick's ideal type, since during the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies, Rodrick was in love with Heather Hills, who, like Regina, is a blonde mean girl. People have also said that Regina would frequently bruise / hit Rodrick, and that he would be into it.
The ship has even reached the point of angst, as there are edits of them as adults using recent scenes with Rodrick's actor Devon Bostick and actress Regina Rachel McAdams. The edits in question depict them in relationship in their youth but going their separate ways in the future, and then reuniting after so many years. There are also edits where Regina is only in love with Rodrick because he's the male version of Janis.
Many people say they would love to see a movie with this theme and bringing the vibe of 2000s rom-cons, demonstrating that modern romance isn't to everyone's taste. They are also commonly compared to Jelsa due to the fact that both are crossover ships which have came to popularity due to a lot of similarities between the characters.
The ship has also fueled a wave of crack teen movies from the 2000s, such as Rodrick and Sharpay (High School Music), Karen (Mean Girl) and Jennifer (Jennifer's Body), Regina and Heather Chandler (Heathers), among others.
On AO3, Rodrina currently has 350+ works and is the most written ship for Rodrick and the second most written for Regina. It is also the most written ship in both the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series - Jeff Kinney and Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Movies 2010-2017) tags and is the second most written ship in the Mean Girls (2004) tag.
