Resident Evil: Shadows of Rose[]
In the aftermath of the 2021 village incident, Rose has been raised in protective custody under the U.S. government. As a mutant human, she is considered a bio-organic weapon (B.O.W.), posing a risk in addition to being a valuable tool. Since Rose’s father’s death, she was raised by her mother for a period of time. She had check-ups from Chris and his comrades of the Hound Wolf Squad, who she sees as extended family. Rose was given a regular education and was enrolled in public school. The school was aware of her mutant nature. Chris had met with factually members to assure them she was safe and not a threat. Chris had forced Rose to undergo basic training as she grew into a teenager, to which Rose found boring. Chris played a great role in Rose’s care and upbringing.
In 2037, Rose is 16 years old. The Fungal Root, otherwise known as the “Black God” targets her, leading to it having Rose experiencing a hallucination where she is asked to meet someone she knows and trusts in a park. The Black God has her meet with one of the Chris’ Hound Wolf Squad members, Charlie “K” Graham. Before the Charlie-hallucination can explain why he wanted to meet with her, Rose tells him she hopes “Chris doesn’t want her to join the operation” because she already told him “that’s not happening” as she’s seen what Chris puts the team through. Instead Charlie asks how things are going at school, leading to Rose expressing immense self-loathing at her circumstances. Charlie explains there may be a way for her to get rid of her powers once and for all. Rose is immediately taken with the idea and goes with Charlie to a lab where the Black God is contained.

Rosefield is a highly enjoyed friendship within the Resident Evil fandom. Fans of the relationship tend to bounce between viewing it as a friendship and familyship, however mainly a familyship. Since Chris’ relationship with Rose’s parents, people like seeing Chris has Rose’s uncle, or shippers of Rose’s father and Chris, see Chris as Rose’s second father. Nevertheless, Rosefield is a beloved relationship who many enjoy in different ways. Fan works of the pair often feature “old man Chris” dealing with baby or teenage Rose, but still very much fond of her.
