RoyalHalo is the femslash ship between Charlie Morningstar and Emily from the Hazbin Hotel fandom.

Season 1

Welcome to Heaven

Charlie and Emily first meet when Charlie visits Heaven with Vaggie. Upon entering, the two are greeted by St. Peter, then Sera and Emily who fly down to greet them as well. Emily seems very eager to meet outsiders as she lets out a happy squeal. She immediately rushes over and introduces herself to Charlie, holding her hand as a friendship blossoms. During this gesture, Vaggie glares at it and seems jealous. St. Peter starts showing them around, while singing "Welcome to Heaven." During the song, Emily holds Charlie's hands as she sings, showing how well they're getting along already with similar ideals and carefree spirit.

At the court meeting, Emily is shown to very supportive of Charlie's idea. Charlie asks what Adam thinks it takes a soul to get into heaven. He then quickly writes up a list which says act selfless, don't steal and stick it to the man. Charlie claims that Angel Dust is most likely doing all that right now. Wanting proof, Adam uses an orb to watch Angel Dust where he is shown to be at a club. After a bit, Sera states that there is no proof that sinners can be redeemed, and Emily tries to convince her to give him a second chance because he did everything on Adam's checklist. This is when the song "You Didn't Know" starts. Emily informs Sera that Charlie was right, due to the fact that Angel Dust did improve.

Further into the song, Adam says that he can't wait to come down to exterminate the sinners. Emily finally finds out about the extermination and is beyond upset and devastated. She expresses the betrayal she feels that Sera was aware of this travesty, and Charlie is shocked that Emily didn't know until now. Charlie approaches Emily and agrees with her, holding Emily’s hand before they join each other to sing against Adam’s ideals and how Heaven must be a lie. The two express their anger at Heaven’s hypocrisy throughout the rest of their part. It is now fully established that Charlie and Emily have the same views in mind of giving sinners a second chance and detesting the cruel extermination.

Fanon

RoyalHalo is considered a rarer ship in the Hazbin Hotel fandom. On AO3, RoyalHalo is the second most written ship for Emily. It is also the fifth most written femslash ship in the Hazbin Hotel (Web Series) tag. There are currently 105+ written works. RoyalHalo is seen as a sort of subversion to Chaggie after Emily’s introduction, and is therefore a rival of it. The main appeal of RoyalHalo was how as how well Charlie and Emily got along right off the bat and how Emily is Charlie’s Angel counterpart in Heaven, with shared goals and kindness. Additionally, the contextual clues pertaining to a possible love triangle between Charlie, Vaggie, and Emily, mainly stemming from Vaggie glaring with jealousy after Emily grabbed Charlie’s hands.

The ship is often written in fan fictions with Emily becoming fallen and meeting Charlie in hell, where their bond continues to grow.
