Royal Trio is the friend ship between Ren Amamiya, Goro Akechi and Sumire Yoshizawa from the Persona fandom.
Canon[]
Main Story[]
Ren and Sumire (as Kasumi) met for the first time when Ren offered to step up for her on a train, meanwhile he and Akechi met during Ren's school trip to the TV Station where Akechi was being recorded. Akechi met Sumire because of her father being a director of a show Akechi was brought onto as a guest many times.
The three of them spend time together for the first time on 7/11. Kasumi greets Ren while they're on the way home from school, saying she has something to tell him, asking him if he has time and offering to find a seat somewhere when he agrees. This is when Akechi notices Ren and after he approaches the two of them, Kasumi and Akechi recognize each other, saying it's been a while. Ren questions their history together and she explains how her father is the director of "Good Morning Japan". Akechi explains that he was invited to participate in the show multiple times and that's how he met Kasumi, surprised that Ren knows her. He tells him how they're friends or about their deal and she follows up by saying that he helped once and now is offering her guidance.
When Akechi questions what they're up to, Kasumi decides to share what he wanted to say and reveals that she was chosen as a club representative in a competition she mentioned to Ren previously. He congratulates her and she declares that it feels like only the beginning to her. Akechi comments how her club is quite prestigious, meaning that her being the representative is very impressive. She thanks him and tells that she'll do her best not to disappoint to which he replies he'll be cheering her on.
Akechi offers that the three of them go somewhere together to celebrate Kasumi's success. She agrees happily and turns to Ren who nods. Akechi proposes that he will choose the place as he knows a great cafe and all of them head there together.
Once they're already there, Akechi points out how Kasumi is having a hot drink despite it being summer and she explains how she has to prevents her body from getting cold as her meet is coming soon and he responds that as expected, she's throughout. Ren takes notice of Akechi's drink, either saying that he also likes hot drinks or pointing out that he himself is drinking a hot coffee. Kasumi comments that she avoids drinking coffee as people say even hot coffee can cool you off. She questions her impression of Akechi being someone who likes sweet things, saying she saw him eating agepan on TV. He explains that it's a part of marketing strategy as this is a way of pleasing his fans and she comments that Akechi is also throughout. Ren to this answers that he either was deceived or that he didn't want to know. Akechi remarks that it's normal to present yourself in favorable light, surprised how pure Ren is.
Kasumi wonders how the two of them met and Akechi explains how Ren during a class trip visited a show he appeared on which makes her remember that second years did have a school trip to a TV station. He goes on to say how the two of them had an exchange of opinions and Ren's way of thinking intrigued him. Kasumi understands what he means as she says that his takes on things often help her too.

Fanon[]
The name "Royal Trio" stems from the name of the remastered version of the game Persona 5 Royal. This version introduces Sumire as a character and expands on Akechi, adding a sequence during which Ren works together only with the two of them.
