Rubex is the het ship between Ruby the Red and Alex from the Super 4 fandom.

Canon[]

Although that each member from Super 4 have very different personalities, Ruby and Alex are only two who have several personality traits in common such as they are both combat sword masters and usually enjoy fighting together. Alex has picked her many times whenever the situation required the four members to split into two duos to solve the issues. This way Alex has another sword fighter by his side.

In terms of contrast, Ruby's pirate nature jeopardizes Alex's knightly attributes as she is the most liable to stealing or succumbing to greed in terms of this. Regardless she remains a supreme asset to both Alex and their squad. Notably, regardless of her nature, Alex refuses to abandon her.

As Alex would say, "she may be a pirate, but has a good heart, and she will return the treasure as always does". In spite of this, since Alex has an everlasting bond with each of the members of never wanting to abandon any of them, he knows that Ruby might have it hard trying to control her pirate greed for treasure, but since she's loyal to her friends more than anything, Ruby has shown several times being able to save her friends over a treasure which is why her friends are always thankful to her.

Season 2[]

Alex and Ruby mostly starred together in a few Season 2 episodes.

Bubble Trouble[]

Alex and Ruby were accidentally trapped inside a bubble by a Twinkle's spell. And so they had to work together to move with the mission so Twinkle could find a way to free them in the end. At first Ruby and Alex were running in opposites directions and it caused them to not move anywhere, since they did not agree on which way was to run, Gene grabbed and dragged them with the frontal part of the Chameleon. After they almost fall through a cliff, Alex (kindly) asks Ruby to follow his plan whom she accepts.

Moments[]

By the ending of Season 1 Episode "All That Glitters", Alex tells Ruby that it was all thanks to her that they could escape in time from the cave and he, alongside Gene, join a hug with her.
In Season 2 Episode "Super 3" Alex saved Ruby on her arms since Twinkle wasn't there to use her magic.
In Season 2 Episode "Light My Fire", Alex and Ruby once again foiled the Black Baron's plans by bringing together the silly make-believe dragon that Fourchesac built for him.
By the end Season 2 Episode "Toy Boxed", after the Super 4 did a forced landing on Technopolis from Sykronior's Headquarters, Alex was walking out of the ship alongside Ruby by surrounding her with one of his arms.
At the start of Episode "Pirate Virus" Ruby and Alex were fishing together in a lake from the Enchanted Island. Also by the ending of the same episode, Gene said "A pirate never abandons his treasure" to which Alex responds "And Ruby never abandons her friends".
In the end of Season 2 Episode "Move It" everyone clapped to Ruby and Alex named her "Queen of Diplomacy" for helping solve the argument between Kingsland and The Enchanted Island.

Fanon[]

Rubex is one of the most popular ships among the community. They're endorsed for Birds of a Feather tendencies. Most rivaling ships include Geneby, Rubynkle, and Alenkle. Though the fandom at large is smaller, they spread an influence on social media, including DeviantArt and Pinterest. In reference to competing ships, they're shipped alongside human pairings revolving around the squad. Authenticity of canonical love interests is a debate in the series.

Through romantic subtext, characters suffered many interpretations and theories. Even with the semantics, Rubex and accompanying pairings fall into platonic fields, especially since romance isn't a main focus of the genre, though shines at rare moments. It's likely the moments shared that can have double meaning is an instance of Ship Tease, the fanbase having an influence on officials. The ship has spread to the western side of the fandom, media showing through collaborative platforms. Though some may prefer Rubex over another, polygamous variations spurt into fruition.

Said love square contains the human members of Super 4, an embodiment of approval of all squadmate ships.
