RukoTeto is the non-binary ship between Kasane Teto and Yokune Ruko from the Utau fandom.
Canon[]
Both Teto and Ruko are characters from the voice synthesizer Utau. The two also have in common that they are Vipperloids, which mean that they were characters made to troll people. Both were created to trick people by making them think that they were going to be new Crypton Future Media Vocaloids. Teto is supposed to be a fake CV04, while Ruko is supposed to be a fake CV03. However, Teto and Ruko doesn't have any official relationship. Depending on the song Teto and Ruko can have whatever kind of relationship. Teto and Ruko have very few original songs, both they have some songs featuring them alongside other Utaus.
Fanon[]
RukoTeto was one of the first ships involving Vipperloids. And relatively, it is still a pretty popular Utau ship. Fans are divided between these who treat the ship as het and those who view it as femslash.
Some people portray their relationship with Ruko being the coolest of the two while Teto being the sweetest. Other people portray their relationship with Ruko being sweeter while Teto having a Tsundere attitude. Some people headcanon Teto and Ruko being best friend, while Ruko being protective toward Teto. Some fanart highlight the great difference in height between the two, as Teto is 5'3'' while Ruko is 6'5'', and think that that make it cuter.
Some rivals include TetoTed and TetoMiku from Teto's side, and RookRuko and Ritsuko from Ruko's side. The ship has inspired some people to ship Rook and Ted, as Ted is Teto's male counterpart while Rook is a rejected male voice for Ruko, and it is sometimes shiped alongside Ruketo. Some Ruketo fans also ship pairings like Litsu or DefoMomo. It is also compared with some Vocaloid ships like MikuRin or Negitoro.
Due to Utau being not very popular compared with Vocaloid, the ship currently only has 2 works on AO3. Despite that, there are many fanarts of the two, and covers as well.
