Rusty is reluctant to take Poppa's place in the race, when CB comes over to him. He offers to be Rusty's partner, and which makes Rusty decide to race. When the race comes around, CB helps Greaseball cheat by using his breaks to slow Rusty down. Rusty realizes what happens and accuses him of the truth, but CB plays dumb. After everyone leaves, CB drops the act and tells Rusty not to trust anyone on the track. Rusty says he'll never race with CB again, and CB says that the re-run is for the real engines. He also adds that Rusty's no real engine before laughing as he skates off.
2018 Bochum[]
Before the start of the final race, all the trains are hyping each other up. Rusty believe that if he wins the big race, Pearl might take notice of him. CB says that he believes in him, and even volunteers to ride with Rusty to do so, which he accepts. CB then grabs onto Rusty when all the finalists go to show themselves off.
The final race is then called to start, and CB goes to join Rusty. The two rolling out onto the tracks together, when it begins. The two make good headway and seem like they're going to win, when Greaseball signals CB. CB then derails Rusty and causes him to crash. As Rusty is accused of causing the accident, CB stands behind him not saying a word. Even turning his back on Rusty when Greaseballs gang beats him up, and leaving him behind when the deed is done.
