RustyCoal is the slash ship between Rusty and Porter from the Starlight Express fandom.

Act 1[]
Rusty is told by Control to get the freight train, which he does. He pulls it onto the stage with Porter leading the fuel trucks right behind him. He then leaves Porter and the others as they go up against the coaches. Later, after heat one, Rusty goes to see Momma, who is with the fuel trucks and tells her about Pearl not racing with him. Momma suggests he take a fuel truck with him, and Slick, Lumber and Porter suggest he take three. Momma suggests Rusty take Porter, but Rusty says no. Porter is offended by this, but plays it off and goes back to watching Rusty argue with Momma. Momma then tells Rusty of the Starlight Express and Porter skates up behind them to listen as well. He then comes and pats Rusty, startling him. He indacates that Rusty should move, which he does, allowing Porter to sit beside him. Control then interrupts to say that the race is about to begin, but Rusty says that he won't race without Pearl. Porter and the other fuel trucks make fun of him for this, and Rusty tells them all to stop it. Momma takes Hydra to race with her in the second heat, and Porter helps her sit afterwards, clearly exhausted. Rusty comes over to congratulate her, but Porter and Hydra point out how exhausted she is. Porter and Rusty help her sit up as Hydra tells her that they're too heavy for her. Rusty reacts understandably but Porter angrily yells at them, which startles Rusty. Porter then goes off as Rusty stays with Momma.

RustyCoal is a rarepair in the StEx fandom. Some fans believe that the two are exes and dated at some point prior to the events of the show. Other fans like to play with the idea of Porter being Rusty's fuel tender, and being replaced by Hydra. Its rival ships include Tendersteam and Coalectra. On AO3, there is currently one written work.
