My Senpai is perfect in every way...
—Ryoba commenting on Jokichi

RyoKichi is the het ship between Ryoba Aishi and Jokichi Yudasei from the Yandere Simulator fandom.

Canon[]

Story Mode (1989)[]

Ever since Ryoba was born, she constantly had dreams about meeting a boy, falling in love with him, and starting a relationship with him. Later in 1988, Ryoba had noticed Jokichi in the hallways, and immediately pictured him as the boy from within her dreams. Ryoba proceeds to stalk Jokichi for a year (ss her courage to talk to him hasn't been fully engraved), learning of his interests as well as stealing some of his belongings, such as his toothbrush, bento box, undergarments, etc. However after seeing Jokichi hanging out with another girl by the name "Sumire Saitozaki," Ryoba was now dedicated to murder her so that Sumire doesn't win Jokichi's heart.

Later after murdering Sumire, and taking notice of her mistake to clean her evidence, another girl (Kaguya Wakazumi) attempts to date Jokichi, with Ryoba breaking up the two (canonically). Ryoba then finds that 9 more girls are interested into Jokichi, to which Ryoba eliminates 5 of them lethally, and the other 4 non-lethally.

After eliminating every rival that Ryoba deemed as getting in the way between her lifelong dream of being with her “love”, she finally builds up the courage to speak to Jokichi, and puts a letter in his shoe locker telling him to meet her underneath the Cherry Blossom tree on Saturday (Supposedly at 7 AM). But before Ryoba confesses her feelings to Jokichi, the Journalist, who had suspected Ryoba of Murder, takes her into court to be tried against the murder of her first victim.

Since Jokichi heard about what The Journalist said about Ryoba being a serial killer along with Ryoba’s trail case this leads to Ryoba feeling like the Journalist ruined her chance of confessing her “love” to Jokichi along with him reciprocating her back. Ryoba resorts to kidnapping Jokichi, and keeping him a prisoner in her mom's basement until Jokichi reciprocates her "feelings". Within the time frame, Ryoba would make 9 tapes (Nicknamed the Basement Tapes) featuring audio tracks of various conversations between the two.

At some point in time, Jokichi gets kidnapped by Saisho Saikou (CEO and founder of Saikou Corp.), worrying Ryoba on Jokichi's whereabouts. It is assumed that during this timeframe, Ryoba rescues Jokichi from Saishou and wins his “heart”, getting married later on.

Ryoba didn't 'mind-break' him because she felt pity for her mind-broken father[1]. However, it is on the table as an option. She will only mind break Jokichi if he attempts to divorce her or go to the police to inform them of her history as a serial killer. She understands that this final resort will have no way or chance to repair him[2].

Story Mode (202X)[]

Later it's implied that cause of Ryoba's threats and/or what happen with the Saikou incident he finally complies with being in a forced relationship with Ryoba for his sanity, along with finally being freed out of the chair he was tied to. It’s possible that Jokichi might have developed a small dose of Stockholm Syndrome during their marriage. Later on, after getting married, it's assumed that Jokichi reluctantly agreed to engaging in sex with Ryoba either caused by the thought of anything bad happening if he refuses like if Ryoba might see this as him not finding her attractive and assume he might be cheating on her which would result in Ryoba emiltating another “threat” that she sees in her eyes or might suspect his “love” towards her isn’t actually real anymore or suspects Jokichi was lying about loving her back. Later on Ryoba gives brith to their daughter (or a son by the time the option is finally added in the game).

Ryoba is devoted to Jokichi, and while he does somewhat “love” her, their relationship is still extremely unstable, as expected from said events that brought about their relationship in the present.

Even after having a child, Jokichi is still afraid of his wife[3]. For example, when he thinks he has accidentally said something wrong about their extremely quiet child, he quickly corrects himself before Ryoba can notice, implying that he deeply fears her after all those years.[4]. Basement Tape #10 proves that Jokichi doesn't dare go against Ryoba, and that he's mostly submissive to the decisions of his wife.

By the time Ayano is now 18 and going to high school Ryoba brings along Jokichi to her trip, and moves to America temporarily to find someone (supposedly the Journalist), leaving their kid home alone.

Children[]

Ayano Aishi
Ayano is the daughter of the two, despite what Ryoba did to him along with her bringing a child to the mix he still cares about Ayano as his daughter. As of now in canon it hasn’t been shown nor implied or considered that Jokichi has felt or formally felt any level of resentment to Ayano upon her birth. He has tired throughout Ayano’s childhood to fix her condition caused by a family curse passed down generation by generation by Ryoba’s side of the family, to which only the women are born with this strange conduction that causes them to not feel emotions, which is the entire reason on how Jokich ended up with Ryoba. Upon hearing the news by a doctor Jokichi acts strongly to this as he continues to talk about it with the doctor. Meanwhile during this Ryoba tells Ayano the solution to her condition by telling her she too had it during her childhood but upon meeting her father for the first time was finally able to feel emotions, telling Ayano that by the time she finds her future special one, then she will finally feel that empty hole in her chest is filled, Jokichi upon hearing this responds angrily by the fact Ryoba is telling Ayano that information as he fears to see Ayano’s future special one to end up just like him and having the Aishi family continue on once again. Jokichi quickly resorts to finding an another way of curing Ayano’s condition for example buying Ayano countless gifts that would excite any regular kid but alas to no effect. Later on, Ayano begins to only feel pity for her father and starts to fake her emotions, personality and overall attitude to make it seem that she was finally normal. For them to finally appear as a regular family, though deep down Ayano suspects that her father knows Ayano is only pretending at the end of the day.

Ryoba attempts to steer her daughter into becoming like her and walking down the path that she did when obtaining her “love”. Such as giving Ayano life “lessons”, for example how to properly clean up blood so that it can’t be detected by an ultraviolet light to which this conversation was formed by Ryoba purposely cutting her finger by her chopping knife so that Ayano can notice her blood and use it as a excuse to bring up this lesson of hers to Ayano. She commonly does this when Jokichi is at work as to not have him stop her from telling Ayano her lessons.

Ayato Aishi
Ayato is the son of the two. Everything story wise assumably stays the same expect that Ayato would logically be the first ever male member of the Aishi Bloodline to be born of their conduction which has only happen to the female members. As of now he hasn’t been officially added yet and is only playable in the Easter Egg menu.

Fanon[]

The Ryokichi ship is obviously one of the most popular ships in Yandere Simulator because, like Yanpai, it serves the main purpose of the game. Ship is also naturally the most popular ship for both characters, but some people prefer to ship Ryoba with Togo. At the same time, before Mr. Saikou's age was revealed, the ship between Ryoba and Mr. Saikou was actually more popular than this ship, later Mr. Saikou When announced his age, this ship was quickly abandoned, and Ryokichi remains the most popular ship for Ryoba.

However, some people criticize this ship for Ryoba's behavior towards Jokichi and say that Jokichi deserves better. the ship strangely has less hate than Yanpai because Jokichi is better looking and has more personality, unlike Taro. The ship's only strong rival now is the Ryogo ship, on which Ryoba is with Togo.

Trivia[]

  • This ship, Yanpai, Ayateko, Ayaeko and AyaTaro are the ships where Aishi and Senpai are together.
  • Jokichi's favorite color is purple, which is the reason why Ryoba wears purple.[5]
  • The first Basement Tape may have implied that she raped Jokichi. Around 2016 when asked about this on Twitter, YandereDev said that he would like to address this issue with a tape so it would not be spoiled on Twitter.[6]
  • He is currently one of the three characters to believe that the Journalist was actually telling the truth about Ryoba's dark nature.
  • Jokichi is mostly cooperative with Ryoba. He is not 100% submissive / obedient, but he doesn't frustrate his wife very often[7].
  • Ryoba would not "immediately jump straight" to mind-breaking Jokichi if he assaulted her, but it would be a very likely outcome, especially if the situation cannot be reconciled or solved[8].
  • If Jokichi gave his attention to an animal, Ryoba would not be threatened by it.[9]
  • At some point it is possible to obtain a ending where Ryoba does actually confess to Jokichi and not kidnap him, making it essentially a good ending. But that ending was confirmed to not be a genuinely canon one and more so a basic “he accepted your feelings for real” ending.
