SaShiSu is the poly ship between Satoru Gojo, Shoko Ieiri, and Suguru Geto from the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom.

Star Plasma Vessel Arc[]
Satoru Gojo, Shoko Ieiri, and Suguru Geto were in the same year as they studied at Tokyo Jujutsu High together about 10 years prior to the events of the main story. Gojo, Geto, and Ieiri were the only three students in their class. They first appear together in Gojo’s Past Arc as second-year students, as they come to Utahime Iori and Mei-Mei’s rescue. When Geto and Gojo arrive on the site and exorcise the curse, they start teasing Utahime, who visibly relaxes only upon seeing Shoko and runs to her for an embrace. From the first interaction with other Jujutsu High students, it becomes apparent that while Gojo and Geto share a penchant for troublemaking, Shoko is a more reasonable and level-headed person. Utahime asks Shoko not to become like Geto and Gojo, and Ieiri promises her that this would never happen.
Mei-Mei notices that there is no curtain making them and the curses invisible to the eyes of non-sorcerers. Shoko, Satoru, and Suguru give her an incredulous look, as none of the three put up a curtain. After they return to Jujutsu High, they get reprimanded by principal Yaga, who wants to know whose blunder it was. Gojo says they’re better than telling on each other, however Geto and Ieiri both point at Gojo, and it become clear it was him who messed up. Some time later, sitting in a classroom alone with his friends, Gojo wonders whether sorcerers should waste their time and powers on hiding their fights with curses from non-sorcerers.

Geto insists that it is very important for the integrity of the innocent citizens’ minds. Satoru and Suguru begin debating on the role of jujutsu sorcerers. Gojo is sure that it is too much trouble protecting the weak, while Geto is sure that this is the reason jujutsu sorcerers’ existence to begin with. Shoko senses danger, so she quickly retreats from the classroom. As Gojo and Geto’s argument is gaining momentum and Suguru is ready to prove his point in practice, they are interrupted by Yaga. The principal calms them down and asks about the whereabouts of the third classmate. Geto and Gojo say they don’t know and she probably left for the bathroom. Yaga ends up sending Gojo and Geto on a mission alone, as it often happens, as Shoko’s technique is too valuable to lose it in a mundane fight with a curse, so she spends more time in college alone.

After Gojo and Geto return from the mission to retrieve the Star Plasma Vessel that ended unsuccessfully as Riko Amaai was killed, their demeanor changes drastically. Suguru is consumed by depression, while Satoru strives towards strengthening his skills and becoming even stronger. He manages to do so, as he become the strongest, and now he is often sent to missions alone. One year later after the events, Shoko and Suguru are seen helping Satoru test his newly acquired talent – being able to control his Infinity Technique non-stop, even when he rests or sleeps. His friends are showing throwing small objects at him, all of them missing the aim, as they jump off of the invisible barrier.
When Suguru makes a decision to create a new world free of non-sorcerers, he leaves Jujutsu High and goes into hiding. Sometime later he finds Shoko in Shinjuku, when she’s alone. She greets him with a small smile on her face and calls him a “criminal”. Geto lights up her cigarette, and she asks him what he is doing there. Suguru says that he is just testing his luck. Then Shoko him whether the charges against him are true, and the man confirms it. He explains his reasoning, but she laughs as she finds it hilarious and Geto’s stance – childish. Shoko takes out her phone and dials Gojo to tell him about Geto’s sighting. After her call Gojo quickly finds Geto and confronts him about what he did and what he is planning to do. Suguru is resolute about his decision and Gojo’s reasoning doesn’t change his viewpoint. Geto leaves and Gojo stays stunned unable to do anything.
Fanon[]
SaShiSu is well-known among the Jujutsu Kaisen the fandom. Most western Jujutsu Kaisen fans see the relationship between Satoru, Shoko, and Suguru as friendship, preferring SatoSugu and ShokoHime, however the ship is quite popular in Japan. By the end of 2021, when the trio hasn't had any interactions in anime yet, the ship's tag on Pixiv had over 6,200 works and scored 5th on the list of JJK ships, which makes it the most popular poly/friend ship and one of the most popular JJK ships in Japan overall.
While not everyone might ship the pairing romantically, their friendship is quite well-recieved, and can often be found in fanfiction works featuring any of the three characters (no matter what the pairing is). Fans speculate what could have happened to the trio, had renegade Geto been joined not only by Gojo, but Shoko, too (like depicted here). Some of the AUs take place in the no-curses world, where Shoko, Satoru, and Suguru are, for example, musical band members. In fandom SaShiSu are often compared to ItaFushiKugi, the new Jujutsu High trio.
Trivia[]
- The ship's name "SaShiSu" derives from the pronunciation of the first character in each of their names in Japanese (hiragana):
Satoru (さ)とる, Shoko (し)ょうこ and Suguru (す)ぐる.[1]
That's why it's not "SaShoSu", as the first character from Shoko's name is pronounced as [ɕi] (shi). - All three have rather unique abilities – Satoru has Six Eyes and the Infinity, Suguru has Cursed Spirit Manipulation, and Shoko has Reverse Cursed Technique.
- Shoko doesn't like sweets, but likes alcohol; Satoru doesn't like alcohol, but is a big fan of sweets; Suguru doesn't have any dislikes.
- Suguru and Shoko seem to be Gojo's only peers that actually like him.
- In the character outlines for the Jujutsu Kaisen Popularity Poll 2021, Gege Akutami described Shoko as "a strong person who spent her school days alongside two problem children, Gojo and Geto."[2]
- The trio's Japanese VAs Yuichi Nakamura, Takahiro Sakurai, and Aya Endo have collaborated before Jujutsu Kaisen on such well-known projects as Seraph of the End, Fruits Basket, Nobunaga the Fool, Fairy Tail, Fire Emblem Heroes, and others.
- In the Asian calendar called "24 SEKKI", the trio's birthdays mark the beginning, continuation, and the end of winter. Shoko's birthday (7th of November) is close to the beggining of the period called ritto (立冬, means start of winter), that marks the beginning of winter (starting around 7-8th of of November). Satoru's birthday (7th of December) is close to the period called taisetsu (大雪, means big snow) which is the season when the cold sets in, and it snows the most (5-8th of December). Suguru was born on the 3rd of February, around the risshun (立春, means start of spring), which marks the last day of winter according to the additional solar terms, since ice starts melting and warm winds blow from the east.[3][4]
- Shoko's 2024 popularity poll description says: "would never love Gojo or Geto even if the heavens and earth flipped around.”
