Sacred Princess is the cargo ship between Zelda and her sacred power from The Legend of Zelda fandom.
Canon[]
Breath of the Wild[]
The light sacred power has been passed down for numerous generations within the Royal Family. Every female member traditionally undergo training from their mothers regarding on how to awaken these powers and they play a prominent role in dispelling evil and purifying anything corrupted by it. Princess Zelda was a child who was supposed to undergo training to access her power with the help of the Queen of Hyrule when she came of age, but the latter unexpectedly passed away before she can pass down her knowledge to her. While the young Zelda puts up a strong front, she becomes increasingly stressed over having to live up to the expectations of her ancestors, which is not helped that Calamity Ganon is prophesied to return in her lifetime and her father King Rhoam becoming increasingly strict with her. When she turned seven, her spiritual training began, but without her mother to help her reach her goal, she becomes anxious and frustrated as she does not know what she is supposed to do and ended up praying for hours on end. When Urbosa was permitted to accompany her, she tells the young princess to cease her training though she did not listen and ended up passing out from exhaustion and upon coming around, she breaks down over not being able to succeed.
Through a decade of training, Zelda has not awakened her power and this fact would end up waning Rhoam's patience as the day grew closer and their relationship grew more strained as time went on. Seeing Link having been an accomplished knight and getting the sacred Master Sword later on, she grew envious and distrustful towards him to the point where she often avoids and lashes out at him, and it was only after he saved her from the Yiga Clan that she opens up to him as he reveals the reason for his silence as it was due to the pressure of having to save everyone. Zelda would then head to the first two springs to train there, the Spring of Courage and the Spring of Power though she did not get the results she wanted. She waits for her seventeenth birthday to arrive to go to Mt. Lanayru to train at the Spring of Wisdom in hopes that it would yield results, but when she did, it still did not bring about her power. The Champions, notably Revali and Urbosa were also sympathetic towards her situation with the former noting that he struggles to understand those who are not as talented as he is, but he tries his best to be empathetic while the latter knew firsthand of Zelda's struggles due to her history with her mother and connection with the princess. When Ganon arrived and seized control of the Divine Beasts and Guardians that resulted in Hyrule's destruction, Zelda could not take it anymore and blames herself for failing to access her power as she cries in Link's arms. Later, as they try to defend Fort Hateno, Link is gravely wounded and pushed far past his limits as he tries to protect Zelda and as a Guardian was about to fire at them. Zelda steps in between and finally awakens her power which shut down the surrounding Guardians, much to her surprise as Link finally collapses and falls into a coma. As she was about to slip into complete despair, the voice within the Master Sword communicates with her that Link can still be saved. As the Sheikah warriors arrive, Zelda orders them to take Link to the Shrine of Resurrection immediately. She latter prepares for Link to make a comeback as she returns the Master Sword to its pedestal before she uses her power to seal Calamity Ganon and herself, ending the threat. This also results in the Divine Beasts and the majority of the Guardians falling dormant.
Zelda does not age throughout the century, and she calls upon Link and regularly communicates with him telepathically though her seal is starting to weaken. After Link regains his lost memories, saves the Divine Beasts, and gets back the Master Sword, he confronts Ganon at Hyrule Castle, the Champions open fire to drain it before Link fights it. During the battle with Dark Beast Ganon, Zelda passes the Bow of Light to Link and uses her power to reveal its weak points. After she is set free, she uses her power to finally destroy Ganon. As they set off for Zora's Domain, she remarks that she can't hear the voice in the sword anymore and her power may have dwindled over the past years, but she accepts this revelation with a smile.
Age of Calamity[]
Princess Zelda, like in Breath of the Wild goes through a struggle throughout the story. It is not visible at first throughout most of the first three chapters, but the conclusion of the third chapter where Link gets the Master Sword to save her from Astor's Hollows did, she start to really worry about her dormant power. As she begins comparing herself to Link, Urbosa had to step in and remind her that Link is still the same person he was before and after he gets the Master Sword and not to worry too much. Terrako also played a part in playing her lullaby to distract her from her troubles, which prevented her from harboring any resentment towards Link. Her training at the springs often proves futile and when Calamity Ganon arrives, she is unable to save her father, who has the Guardians point their cannons on him and slips into despair before Terrako summons the Gates of Time to save the Champions and give them enough time to reach them and destroy the Blight Ganons. At Fort Hateno, Link finds himself pitched against the four revived Blight Ganons from Astor and as Zelda is being pulled away by Impa, she remembers the last moments of seeing her father and runs back and she reaches out and awakens her power. Since then, Zelda's sacred power along with the Bow of Light becomes the new weapons that she uses in gameplay. Zelda would use her power to weaken the Guardians, Ganon's barrier, and uses it to destroy Calamity Ganon without having to be sealed herself as she has no reason to do it given that Link and the Champions are still standing.
Tears of the Kingdom[]
While the fact that her power had been exhausted, she is shown to still have her power which had taken years to be revigorated again. She is also revealed to possess power over time itself which Queen Sonia would help train her to get better at using it. She uses her sacred power to help Rauru and Sonia defeat an army of Moldugas summoned by Ganondorf. Sonia also directly refers to her sacred power when having tea together. Much later, after Rauru seals Ganondorf, Zelda would then swallow her Secret Stone to become the Light Dragon and her sacred power is at its peak as she tends to the broken Master Sword as it heals through many millennia eventually making it to Link. After Ganondorf is defeated, Rauru and Sonia help Link return Zelda to normal.
Fanon[]
The Breath of the Wild series fan fic stories most frequently have Princess Zelda on her pilgrimage to access her sacred power and often fails when everything she did had no results which is prominent in Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom is the first time where her journey to gain her sacred power is not the focus at all. Zelda's struggle to access her power over the course of many years, coupled with dealing with an overbearing father and the very fact that Calamity Ganon is returning and dealing with many losses and failures has made this incarnation to be the most sympathetic one to date.
