SaiIno has a decent amount of popularity in the Naruto fandom but was often overlooked until it became canon. It started to become popular when Sai called Ino beautiful but dropped for a while because the two were not shown to interact for a while. However, when it was revealed that they got married and had a kid, the popularity rose again. Some fans did not expect SaiIno to happen and criticize it for the lack of development. SaiIno rivals the ShikaIno, ChoIno and SaiSaku pairings and is often shipped along with ShikaTema and SasuSaku.
