Sailor Moon started as a comic, or manga, series in Japan called Codename: Sailor V that was a one-shot. Later the more well-known manga "Sailor Moon" that would span five arcs.

An animated TV series, or Anime, following shortly after that ran alongside the manga that spanned five seasons. Later there was a live-action TV series "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" would air. There has also been several movies. More recently a second animated TV series "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal" aired based off the first two arcs of the manga.

There also have been a few video games.

Plot

Some girl finds out that she is a superhero, then a princess of the moon, and fights some bad guys\girls. Also there's her daughter from the future with an Electra complex who later falls in love with a magical horse. The show often pokes fun at obesity. Oh, and don't forget the magical transsexuals in the last TV series season. This show is recommended for young girls.

Fandom

Sailor Moon has a strong following being one of the earlier anime series to be released in the west.
