SakiMai is the femslash ship between Saki Hyuuga and Mai Mishou from the Pretty Cure fandom.
Canon[]
Saki and Mai first met five years prior to the start of the series. Saki wandered away at a festival and got lost. She ended up at a large tree known as the sky tree and encountered Mai there, but they did not get a chance to talk or learn each other's names. Five years later, Saki wandered to the tree while eating an ice cream wafer, and Mai walked up to the tree. The two found each other to be familiar but did not immediately remember their previous encounter. Before they could talk, two mysterious beings named Flappy and Choppy emerged from the tree and came into their possession. Saki's younger sister Minori arrived to ask her to do a delivery, so they were interrupted.
Saki was confused with what happened and lamented that she and Mai did not get the chance to exchange names. However, the next day, Mai is introduced to Saki's class as a transfer student, and they are finally able to properly introduce themselves. They later met again at the sky tree and were attacked by a being known as Karehan. The two transformed into Cure Bloom and Cure Egret respectively and were able to successfully fight him off.
Saki and Mai became close friends during their days as Pretty Cure. Mai would sketch Saki during softball practice and games to help her with her form and cheer her on. Saki also encouraged Mai to join the art club after seeing her talents and love for drawing. Saki would regularly invite Mai to her family's bakery and give Mai treats, and Mai sometimes helped out at her bakery. Mai also invited Saki to moon and stargazing events at her family's observatory.
Saki and Mai's friendship continued years after they saved the Land of Fountains and into adulthood. Since Saki was now engaged, Mai asked her for relationship advice with her boyfriend.

SakiMai is a popular ship and is the most popular ship in the Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash☆Star series. As Saki and Mai are considered to be the spiritual successors to Nagisa and Honoka, this ship is often compared to NagiHono and is especially popular among the NagiHono shippers. This ship was sunk when it was revealed that Saki was engaged to a man in the future while Mai also had a boyfriend, but many fans decide to ignore this. On AO3, there are over 30 works for the pairing. SakiMai rivals the SakiMichi, MaiKao, KazuSaki, and KentaSaki pairings.
