KirbySam is the femslash ship between Kirby Reed and Sam Carpenter from the Scream fandom.
Canon[]
Kirby and Sam were schoolmates together at Woodsboro High, with Kirby in her senior year while Sam was an incoming freshman. It is unknown how the two met each other, but they eventually started up a friendship despite the age difference between them. Kirby was involved in the The Second Woodsboro Murders, and Sam would have been aware of the events. It is unknown if their friendship continued after the massacre and Kirby's subsequent high school graduation. Eventually, both girls ended up leaving Woodsboro behind in an attempt to get a fresh start elsewhere.
Kirby and Sam reunite in New York City. Sam and her sister, Tara, are once again being tormented by Ghost Face, and the NYPD decide to bring in Kirby, who is now an FBI Agent, to help investigate. Sam introduces Kirby and Tara to each other. Kirby shows off the scar that she has on her stomach from her encounter with Charlie Walker, when he revealed his identity as Ghostface. Sam was also stabbed in the stomach at the hands of her love interest as he revealed that he was Ghostface.
Kirby, Sam, and the rest of the Core Four come up with a plan to trap and unmask Ghostface. However Wayne Kirsch, an NYPD detective and one of the current Ghostface, calls Sam to try and turn her and the others against Kirby. He lies, and says that Kirby isn't actually an FBI Agent and that she was let go from her job months prior due to her mental health. Trusting Wayne, Sam and the others begin to turn against Kirby. Shortly after, Ghostface arrives and they assume that Kirby is in the costume. A fight ensues, but Kirby returns before anyone can be unmasked, explaining that she was knocked unconscious by Ghostface.
The killers reveal themselves as Wayne, Quinn, and Ethan Kirsch. They want revenge on Sam for killing Richie Kirsch, and begin to attack her and her friends. Ethan grabs the knife that Charlie used on Kirby, and stabs her in the stomach. Sam runs over and pulls the knife from Kirby's stomach to use as a weapon against Ethan. Kirby, through gritted teeth, tells Sam to "fuck him up". Later, Kirby uses a TV set to kill Ethan before he can hurt Sam or Tara.
With the killers defeated, the paramedics arrive and begin to load the survivors into ambulances. Kirby asks Sam what she plans to do next, and she says she'll try and face her past. Kirby nods, then reminds Sam she can call her if she ever needs anything.

SamKirby is a popular pairing in the Scream fandom, especially when it comes to the reboot characters. Despite both Sam and Kirby having canon or semi-canon relationships with men (Kirby with Charlie and Sam with Danny), many fans chooses to headcanon the girls as being queer. Kirby, in particular, is rarely shipped with men. SamKirby shippers enjoy all of the parallels between the two characters, especially with their respective arcs in Scream 4 and Scream (2022). They also like the fact that Sam and Kirby were friends in high school, which gives shippers fuel for the "friends-to-lovers" trope or the "first love" trope.
SamKirby currently has over 35 works on AO3. It is most frequently rivalled by JillKirby and Sam/Danny.
