Samily is the het ship between Sam and Emily from the Murder Drones fandom.
Canon[]
Sam and Emily are peers in the Worker Drone colony, Outpost 3. They seem to be friends as they are seen in close contact during the fourth episode, Cabin Fever.
Cabin Fever[]
Emily and Sam are both campers on a class field trip to the Cabin Fever labs. Sam and Emily seem to be caught in a conversation as they exit the bus. Darren knocks violently into Emily and making her smash into Sam and knock him down. She shouts at Darren before leaning over Sam's body. Instead of helping him up she picks up her fallen book and continues her path. When the two find out that Serial Designation N and V, the murderous and infamous Murder Drones, are participating as their camp counselors they are rightfully fearful.
It isn't until Thad, Lizzy, and the pitiful influence of Uzi Doorman convinced them to place their trust in them. The duo participate in friendly camp activities with their peers. One of the various activities is "canoeing" across the frozen lake. V's boat that is being carried by Sam and Darren attacks Emily's. Karma instantly hits them as Darren, who kicked the boat, slips and causes a domino effect of collapsing drones.
They practice archery afterwards with the threatening presence of V's sadism. When N accidentally calls out the hiding Uzi, the purple drone is forced to come out of hiding. Emily and Sam naturally jump at her mere presence. Braidon accidentally launched an arrow towards the angsty drone with his trigger finger. She catches the attack midair in panic with her awakened Solver; she not only halts it but transforms it into a grotesque, writhing organism.
Emily and Sam watch in terror as she bolts into the woods. Her unexpected predicament triggered a heated argument between N and V. While N takes off to console the perplexed Uzi, V abrasively dismisses the campers to have free will with the intent of killing Uzi on her mind. Emily, Sam, and their friends decide to hangout around a campfire. Sam listens intently to Braidon's "scary story" whilst Emily indulges in her book.
Emily voices her concern about Rebecca and Darren's extended time alone. Sam, lost in his own world, doesn't seem to pay attention to her. As if on cue, Rebecca's disembodied upper half grips at Emily's leg to get her attention. Sam and Emily jump in horror staring at Rebecca's injuries. Rebecca feebly attempts to describe Uzi's appearance to warn her friends of their impending demise.
Unfortunately, they fail to guess. The transformed and Solver-possessed Uzi appears on scene. She provoked them to flee; Sam panickly exclaims that everyone should split up. Emily hastily agrees since she believes she read the false strategy in her book. The plan resulted in Sam's painful death and Emily being beheaded.
Fanon[]
The ship is an extreme rarepair within the fandom mainly caused by Emily and Sam's scarce roles as victims. It's the second most popular ship for both characters. Fans note their contrasting characteristics that make their specific dynamic endearing to audiences. Many argue that the duo and many others had wasted potential due to their sudden deaths. Without a more in-depth depiction of their relationship, it left fans to insert their own interpretations/headcanons to fill in the blank spaces.
Shippers may find their "nerd x stoner" dynamic attractive and positively complex. Observing the fourth episode, Cabin Fever, more carefully, Emily and Sam are commonly seen together. This inserted the idea that they are friends who have mutual comfort in each other. Their pairing is easily overshadowed by their popular ships, Samzi and Emizi, which are both ironically pairings involving Uzi Doorman, their murderer.
