Sammella is the femslash ship between Samey and Ella from the Total Drama fandom.
Canon[]
Sammy and Ella don't interact much during the show, but the former is shown smiling at the latter while she is singing in the plane during the pilot episode of Total Drama: Pahkitew Island. However, despite their lack of interactions with each other, they are still similar characters. They both are polite people and have someone who messes with them in the game, both inside and outside of it for Sammy. For the cheerleader, it's Amy, her twin sister, and for the princess, it's Sugar, one of the antagonists of the season both contestants debuted in. Amy and Sugar both attempted to seriously injure the two as well, with Sugar pushing Ella off of a cliff during the theme song and Amy shoving her twin off of her leg when it's uncertain whether or not Sammy has a real parachute.
Both of them also have someone to assist them in dealing with the previously mentioned players, albeit Ella to a lesser extent. Sammy has Jasmine encouraging her to stand up to her sister, and she is eventually successful in doing so with two events. The first being during their team's breakfast with her attempting to call out Amy for her behavior over the past several years, along with the second event: eliminating the older twin by rendering her unable to speak. While Ella isn't successful in her goal of befriending Sugar, she still has Sky backing her up with two events, both taking place in the same episode. The athlete assures Ella that "the meanest people are the ones who have a hard time believing in themselves." The other is when Chris threatens Ella with elimination if she sings again, and Sugar convinces her to start singing at that moment, being saved by Sky putting her hand over her mouth.
Each of them are also fairly disliked by the host, Chris McLean. He despises Ella's singing and also intentionally gets Sammy's name wrong, despite being corrected. The reasons for them are that "singing is not required during this season," which Ella does not listen to, and that "everyone calls (her) 'Samey.'" Their eliminations are also meddled with by the host himself in different ways. Ella is disqualified for singing, while Sammy gets to continue in the game in Amy's place until the older twin's eventual return to the island.
Fanon[]
This ship is not very popular, but it was brought to attention by a user named PersonaBreaker on Fanfiction.net and Archive of Our Own. The story is called Twinning With a Twist, involving Sammy being placed on a different team from her sister. She develops a crush on Ella after listening to her singing voice, and the latter begins to reciprocate her feelings once Sammy saves her from drowning during the pool noodle challenge. The ship is also used platonically in a lot of fanfics, such as Gen Three's World Tour by Shronut on Fanfiction.net. The reaction is generally very positive, as the reviews of the aforementioned story by the first author that refer to the couple have been positive overall.
