- “I know, your heart is bursting with gratitude... but there's no need to thank me. We have what I'd like to call a "fiscal friendship." If the money's right, not a problem in sight!”
- — Sampo, To Rot or to Burn
SampoStelle is the het ship between Sampo Koski and Stelle from the Honkai: Star Rail fandom.

Stelle is a Trailblazer traveling across the universe as part of the Astral Express crew. Sampo Koski is a businessman and a member of the Masked Fools, who currently lives on the planet Jarilo-VI. The two have had many interactions with one another, with Sampo occasionally helping Stelle and at the same time tricking her.
Trailblaze Mission[]
Jarilo-VI[]
Sampo and Stelle meet in the snowy plains of Jarilo-VI after Stelle and her friends March 7th and Dan Heng find a man hiding in a snowdrift. Stelle smirks at him trying to hold his breath to go unnoticed, before Dan Heng pulls him out of the snow.
- Stelle – “I'm Stelle.”
- Sampo – “Excellent, I'll remember the name.(...)”
- — Trailblaze Mission, Travelers on a Winter Night
Sampo agrees to guide the newcomers to Belobog, "humanity's last bastion against the Eternal Freeze". However, when they stumble upon the silvermane guards, Sampo disappears without a trace, leaving the trio with a bitter aftertaste, Stelle included, as evidenced by the later opportunity to remind it to him.
Throughout the Jarilo-VI arc, Sampo shows ambiguous behavior. He saves the main characters from Bronya, but does so with sleeping gas and creates havoc by bringing her to the Underworld. He volunteers to lead the crew to Svarog, but disappears the second they manage to open the gates to Robot Settlement. He brings Natasha for help at a crucial moment, but implies not once that it's just a business matter. All of this cannot but affect Stelle's opinion of Sampo which can be seen in dialog options and varies from negative to supportive.
According to several mission descriptions, sometimes Stelle is so mad at Sampo that she wants to beat him.
- “You swear that if you catch him this time, you will definitely end this opportunist smuggler right where he stands... Okay, maybe that's a little exaggerated.”
- — Trailblaze Mission, The Eighth and Final Rule
Despite that and not many openly-positive dialog choices towards Sampo, March points out what Stelle might like about him.
Stelle seems to be interested in Sampo, as she can bring him up into conversations a number of times for no particular reason, puzzling the other person she’s speaking to. Sampo reciprocates the interest; according to his words in the finale of Jarilo arc, he thinks the Astral Express crew is a lot of fun. His presence on the Loufu and presumable appearance in the Simulated Universe (Curio Hacker occurrence) indicates it as well.
The 4th wall break scene, where Sampo talks to someone on TV and then turns to the camera to address the audience, happened in Stelle's dream, which is described as "ominous". Why she dreamed about this and whether Sampo had a hand in this is still unknown.
Penacony[]
Sparkle chooses Sampo's appearance to trick Stelle and Firefly. If Stelle expresses her joy of seeing him, Sparkle will be surprised they're "on the same wave now", suggesting she is aware of them being not exactly in good terms. In her speech before sending Stelle and Firefly to the real Dreamscape, she tells Stelle, that others must've twisted Sampo's story on Jarilo-VI.
- “And as for you — Trailblazer who saved the Ice World — I wonder how much others might've embellished Sampo's story when recounting the happenings on Jarilo-VI? (...)”
- — Sparkle, Long Day's Journey Into the Night
In Dreamscape Pass, Stelle can choose to be hateful of Sampo once again and get a gentle advice not to be too judgmental or she can acknowledge him as her comrade. In the third option, she wonders why of all people she reunited with Sampo Koski and considers it's a bad sign.
Side Missions[]
In the Survival Wisdom quest, in order to help Peak with his business idea, Sampo tricks Stelle into collecting all three mining tools for him by giving her fake treasure map. When she comes to him mad and ready to beat him, Sampo gives her the real treasure map. Before that, Stelle may take offense that Sampo treats her like a robot and only contacts her when he needs something.
- “Relax! See— our beautiful Stelle has brought this for you, hasn't she?”
- — Sampo, Survival Wisdom
In the Vessel of Mediocrity mission, Stelle had to push the crates to save a mysterious girl in the Fragmentum. The first person she contacts about the encounter is Sampo, which surprises him himself. Her problem makes him concerned about her mental health, as he suggests Stelle go to Natasha several times. He does agree to come with her to the Fragmentum, though he doesn't find the girl with the crates or anything important to him there. Before leaving, he advises Stelle to address her sleep issues.
In the daily quest Catch Me If You Can, when playing hide and seek with The Moles, Stelle can choose to hide in a dark alley and stay there for long, which results in her waking up in the clinic. Natasha tells her that she was at death's door after starving for 3 days and that the one who saved her by bringing to the clinic was Sampo.
In Hook’s companion’s mission, Sampo's suspected to be working with the thief who stole Fersman's geomarrow detector. If Stelle suggests he's innocent, the narrator will call her naive. Stelle and Hook caught the thief trying to sell the detector to Sampo, who is in a hurry to say he knew there's something fishy. Pleased with their “act of heroism”, Sampo stays to watch their fight and give them a suggestion of what to do with the broken detector.
On the Xianzhou Luofu, Sampo pranks Stelle with a fake neutron bomb in a delivery box. If she brings the bomb to Qingzu to defuse, Stelle gets scared out of her consciousness by the "explosion" and wakes up under Bailu's supervision. Bailu says that Qingzu left a note inside the box, reading:
- “Are you having a good time at the Xianzhou Alliance?”
- — the note from Sampo Koski
Events[]
In the Museum Management event, Stelle catches Sampo aka mr. Coldfeet in the hotel room after his scheming with museum relics. In the silent scene that follows, she's visually disappointed and he's distinctly panicked. Sampo offers her a bribe of 5,000 credits, which she can accept or reject, but either way, he gets away with it.
- “Wh—What a pleasant surprise to see you again. Isn't it amazing how fate brings people together? Our bridge of friendship could extend all the way to Everwinter Hill!”
- — Sampo, Opportunity Makes the Thief
At the secretary desk, he leaves a playful note for Stelle, offering his candidacy to be the guest assistant. After completing the quest, he appears in the guest assistant list and can be seen in the museum.
In the Underground Treasure Hunt event, when exploring ruins, Stelle encounters Sampo a few times. In one of the notable encounters, Sampo calls Stelle his savior and asks her to get a "piece of metal" out of the way, in another he teaches her how to prepare automatons for sale at the ancient relics market, in a third he tries to sell her ancient relics "fresh out of the ground".
- “Oh, isn't this Stelle? Are you here for the treasure hunt? It must be fate that we met up, so let's travel together. With Sampo here, you won't lose out!”
- — Sampo, Underground Treasure Hunt
In the Aetherium Wars event, Sampo is one of the light yellow level players. He complains to Stelle that no one wants to play with him because they expect him to be a trick. A match with him is actually played fairly.
When searching for the trotter in the Mystery Trotter event, Stelle finds clothes in the snow pile. They immediately remind her of Sampo's clothing, and it seems he left them there to trick the silvermane guard hiding in another snow pile.
In the Stellar Shadowseeker event, Stelle can take a picture of Sampo with the fight club in one frame. Sampo will ask for 50 credits for it and will thank Stelle for her generosity if she agrees to pay. She then sends March the fight club photo and Sampo's separately, on which March comments that the second photo didn't come out well. If Stelle takes a photo without Sampo in the frame, he will ask if Stelle wants his photo for free, but there is no possibility to take it again.
- “I understand your admiration, but if I make this exception for you, then it'll make things hard for me later on. (...)”
- — Sampo, Stellar Shadowseeker
Daily Messages[]
All three chats with Sampo are scam attempts.
In the first chat, Sampo tries to convince Stelle that he wants out of the business and that he needs a capital to feed mouths for some time. Stelle hurries to end the chat by saying she's going to take a shower. Sampo persistently asks if she really is showering.
In the second chat, Sampo offers Stelle his financial management services. If she says it's a scam, Sampo will offer to return her money after she tries it out. Stelle responds she has none, on which he ends the chat, rudely, as Stelle points out. If she sends him money right away, it will scare Sampo out of his pants. Stelle laughs, Sampo says there's nothing funny, and then asks if she's on her way to the guards.
In the third chat, Sampo asks Stelle to forward the link. If she agrees, he calls her a "literal god". In the end of the chat, Sampo exposes his scam and then tries to smooth things over with a laugh and a heart sticker.

Fanon[]
This section is in need of major improvement. Please help improve this article by editing it.
Sampo's story is shrouded in mystery, and his relationship with Stelle is still in development, which opens up a lot of room for shippers to fantasize and headcanon.
There are a variety of dynamics in fan works because of Stelle's mixed feelings about Sampo in canon. Some portray Sampo's one-sided advances to Stelle, who, being distrustful or annoyed, either doesn't reciprocate or without much enthusiasm. Often Sampo is an enigma Stelle loses her mind over trying to understand. Some see Sampo and Stelle as a parallel to Aha and Akivili, the Aeons of Elation and Trailblaze, who formed a very peculiar relationship, comparing Sampostelle to Ahavili. Their known interaction is the incident in which Aha blew up the Express after disguising as a human passenger for a year, and he claims to be missing Akivili in the Simulated Universe. Sampo and Stelle's connection with the trash cans also didn't go unnoticed and was depicted in some humorous works.
Sampostelle is an unpopular ship in the Western fandom, but has its fanbase due to many on-screen interactions. The peak popularity of the ship was in May 2023 after Sampo's appearance in the story.
In Japanese magazine B's Log, Sampo/Trailblazer ship takes 7th spot.

Trivia[]
- Stelle likes blue color (depends on player’s choice in the mission The Setting Sun Is the Most Beautiful), while the game often emphasizes Sampo’s hair color (“Tall, Blue, and Handsome”, “Blue guy”, etc.)
- Stelle's relationship with trash cans has become a joke among the fandom, supported by the developers. In some promotional materials, Sampo is depicted hiding in a trash can, and the dream bubble in the Penacony main quest shows him as is the antagonist named Tatalov, The Garbage King.
- Sampo and Stelle have similar details in their design, like matching gloves and diamond-shaped pupils. Sampo's attack color matches the color of the star in Stelle's idle animation. Stelle's thigh band has the same color as Sampo's phone case and cash in his idle animation.
