SaneMitsu is the het ship between Sanemi Shinazugawa and Mitsuri Kanroji from the Demon Slayer fandom.
Canon[]
Sanemi and Mitsuri are both Hashira, the highest ranking swordmen in the Demon Slayer Corps, with Mitsuri being the Love Hashira and Sanemi being the Wind Hashira. They are not seen to have many interactions besides the Hashira Meeting in Season One and the Hashira Training Arc. During the Hashira Meeting, Mitsuri is against the idea of executing Tanjiro and Nezuko, finding their familial bond captivating. On the other hand, Sanemi enters the scene holding Nezuko's box, insulting Tanjiro before ridiculing him about his “total delusion” that Nezuko was different from the other demons and was even protecting humans. Sanemi stabbed through the box, mocking Tanjiro as he did so. When the Master arrived, Sanemi offered him good prayers and was glad to see him in good condition, contrasting his behavior earlier. Mitsuri wished to do the same for the master, muttering her greeting towards him.
In the "Demon Slayer Corps Records" book, their opinions of each other are shown. Sanemi states that he does not like her very much and believes that she is idiotic. Sanemi gets annoyed with Mitsuri often. While Mitsuri believes that he is scary, but that factor is the good thing about him. Similar to how Mitsuri is with the rest of the Hashira (excluding Muichiro), Mitsuri seems to have a small crush on Sanemi, or specifically attracted to him. During the Hashira Metting, Mitsuri says she admires how he always comes back with scars from his missions.
When Mitsuri was explaining how she gained her Demon Slayer Mark, Sanemi, as well as the other Hashira and the Master's wife and two children, stared at her in a confused manner. Sanemi looked visibly irritated by her outburst. After realizing everyone was staring at her, Mitsuri excused herself due to embarrassment.

Fanon[]
SaneMitsu is a big rarepair in the fandom, since the most popular ships between the two are ObaMitsu and ShinoMitsu on Mitsuri's side, and SaneKana and SaneGiyuu on Sanemi's side. However, some people ship them because of their dynamic, and how different their personalities are. Because of their differing peculiarities, fall into the "Brooding Boy and Gentle Girl" trope. Due to the pairing being a rarepair, there are not many fanworks of the two.
A lot of people dislike the pairing because of their clashing personalities and other key factors. The translation for Sanemi's opinion on Mitsuri varies, but each one shows that he perceives her negatively. Translations can be interpreted as “I don't like her very much (I don't like her being an idiot).” or “I don't like her as much (her idiotic side is hard to deal with).“ and others, but each translation shows that Sanemi canonically finds Mitsuri irritating and finds her to be a nuisance. Additionally, others dislike the pairing due to the fact that Mitsuri is canonically inlove with Obanai, that ship being ObaMitsu, and in various translations, Gyomei claims that Sanemi likes Kanae. However, Sanemi's feelings can be dismissed since he has never confirmed having romantic feelings for Kanae, but his feelings are implied.
A key reasoning behind the ship's dislike is that the ship is "random," or how toxic the pairing might be if the two established a romantic relationship. Alternatively, fans of the pairing envision Sanemi warming up to Mitsuri and potentially forming a friendship due to their similarities. If Mitsuri and Obanai had a proper marriage, Sanemi could be their “brother-in-law,” despite the lack of blood relation to Obanai. He might also be considered their “friend-in-law” because of the two not being related.
A significant number of fans enjoy the relationships between Sanemi and Obanai, Obanai and Mitsuri, and Sanemi and Mitsuri. Thus, they ship all three making the pairing polyamorous. This ship is referred to as SaneObaMitsu or ObaSaneMitsu. The same often happens with Giyū, where fans end up shipping SaneGiyuMitsu. Other people like shipping SaneShinoMitsu because of ShinoMitsu being a popular ship in the fandom.

Trivia[]
- Sanemi and Mitsuri are the sole Hashira who wear a plain white haori and a unbuttoned uniform.
- Not only are their personalities different, but so are their preferences, with Mitsuri being a cat lover[1] (owning up to 4 of them) and even naming her breathing techniques after them. On the other hand, Sanemi seems to not have a preference, but seems especially attached to dogs.[2]
