SaneShino is the het ship between Shinobu Kocho and Sanemi Shinazugawa from the Demon Slayer fandom.
Canon[]
Sanemi and Shinobu are both Hashiras in the Demon Slayer Corps. Sanemi is the Wind Hashira, while Shinobu is the Insect Hashira.
Hashira Introduction[]
The two are first seen together during the Hashira meeting at the headquarters when Tanjiro was captured and taken there. At first, during Mount Natagumo Arc, Shinobu was tempted to execute Nezuko, but eventually “sympathized” with Tanjiro, deciding to use a gentle toxin to kill her. Shinobu's opinion changed during the Hashira Introduction, when she wanted to hear Tanjiro's backstory before deciding on a punishment, even kneeling and offering him medicated water so he could begin explaining. While the rest of the Hashira discuss what they will do with Tanjiro and his sister, Sanemi made his appearance, holding the box that has contained Nezuko. Shinobu stood up, cautioning Sanemi not to do anything rash with her back towards him. They then appear side by side in the Hashira meeting.
Official Fanbook[]
In the Official Fanbook 2, there is a section that is about how the Hashiras' view each other. For Sanemi, it says that he occasionally talks to Shinobu because she is Kanae's sister. On Shinobu's profile, it is said that Sanemi often questions Shinobu's well-being, asking her if she is okay when they meet.

Fanon[]
SaneShino is extremely unpopular inside the fandom due to their minimized interactions. Additionally, many people imagine their relationship as a “older brother-younger sister” type dynamic due to Sanemi's ambiguous feelings for Shinobu's older sister, Kanae (as many fans interpret Sanemi's feelings for Kanae as romantic. His feelings for Kanae are up to interpretation meaning anything such as familial, platonic, or romantic feelings could be considered canon).
However, a main reason why the pairing could be shipped is that they both are short-tempered characters who were close to Kanae. While Sanemi doesn't hide his temper and is very expressive about it, Shinobu keeps it to herself and controls her emotions. In fan fictions and fan art, they are usually seen as friends who grieve over Kanae's death. Many interpret their friendship as a “friendly rivalry” (or “frenemies”) and are usually imagined arguing.
SaneShino is easily overshadowed by the more popular ships of the characters. Such as GiyuShino and ShinoMitsu for Shinobu, and SaneKana, SaneGiyuu, ObaSane, and possibly others on Sanemi's side. The two are often shipped with Giyu Tomioka.
In a chapter/episode, Shinobu says that only immature people don't control their emotions. A few would compare these words to Sanemi's behavior, and believe that Shinobu views Sanemi as immature. Despite this, Shinobu and Sanemi are often envisioned to have a strong friendship due to their similarities.
Fans also come up with headcanons for the two. A popular one is that Shinobu lended Sanemi a book or guide about beetles and how to take care of them. The reason for this headcanon is that Sanemi owns a rhinoceros beetle as a pet, and Shinobu gave him a guide to teach him how to care for a beetle properly as an act of kindness. Additionally, Shinobu is often depicted bandaging or healing Sanemi's wounds because he regularly returned with scars after missions.
SaneShino currently has 10 romantic and 65+ general/platonic works on AO3, as well as 30+ works on Pixiv, showing that there are a decent amount of fans of the pairing.

Trivia[]
- Sanemi owns a pet rhinoceros beetle[1], a type of insect. Coincidentally, Shinobu uses Insect Breathing and is the Insect Hashira.
- Shinobu and Sanemi both own a pet besides their kasugai crows, En and Sorai. Shinobu owns a pet goldfish named Fugu[2], while Sanemi was gifted a rhinoceros beetle.
- Shinobu dislikes furry animals[3], while Sanemi has shown a liking for them and is often portrayed around dogs in particular.
- Shinobu and Sanemi both have purple eyes, however, Sanemi's are more of a pale purple while Shinobu's are brighter.
- Shinobu and Sanemi's given names both start with the letter “s” and have an “n” in the middle.
