Sansmaeda is the slash ship between Sans and Nagito Komaeda from the Undertale and Danganronpa fandoms.

As both characters are from different series, they have never interacted. Both are characters that debuted in video games. In their respective series, the characters share similar traits, such as acting as an antagonist to the player. Over the course of their story, they make speeches about philosophy. They also appear to be wearing a coat or hoodie.
Fanon[]
Both characters are one of the most popular characters in their respective fandoms. They are both featured in popular ships, Komahina and Frans, and multiple forms of fan art. With their fame as fan favorites, however, backlash and ironic jokes have formed.
The ship sailed as a joke ship made popular by Skeletortilla on Tumblr.[1] As a joke, they made a MikuMikuDance video of the duo dancing to the song ASSGORE (Fingerfücking). On Tumblr, the post boomed and caused the "Fingers in his Ass Sunday". It has some popularity on Instagram.
Due to "Energy Sword Sunday" forming around the same time, some have drawn the characters with energy swords. Specially, they are depicted holding the ones from the Halo video game series. A friendly rivalry also formed with shippers and Energy Sword Sunday.
During December of 2018, Tumblr denounced content that would be considered NSFW or offensive. This caused fans of the meme to make comics of the duo saying farewell to each other. After Tumblr changed its policies, "Fingers in his Ass Sundays" permanently stopped. Despite this, some fans continue to reference the meme on other websites.
A somewhat common thing to happen to Sansmaeda is to be paired together with MordeTwi or drawn as the Airplanes meme.
On Twitter, Komaeda and Sans are part of the "Vriska Universe" or "Vriska Undertale" AU, in which various Tumblr Sexymen (or other popular fandom characters) are put in the role of Steven Universe characters. The AU started with Komaeda as Rose Quartz, so subsequent works have put Sans in the role of Rose's partner, Greg.
As a result of the Tumblr Sexyman poll in 2022, Sansmaeda gained a rival ship, SansGen. Although some also ship them in a poly ship.
At the end of January 2023, after a poll feature was added into Tumblr, @sexymanotd decided to host a rematch of the Ultimate Tumblr Sexyman Showdown. Sans managed to make it to the finals against Cecil from Welcome to Night Vale. When asked what would happen if Cecil were to win against Sans, the account answered "Cecil will officiate the Sansmaeda wedding." After it happened, people started drawing arts of the Sans and Komaeda getting married, with many arts also featuring Reigen crying and feeling happy in the background.
