Sansmaeda

Sansmaeda is the slash ship between Nagito Komaeda and Sans from the Danganronpa and Undertale fandoms.

Canon

As both characters are from different series, they have never interacted before. Thus, they have no canon relationship. In their respective series, the characters share similar traits such as acting as a major side character and wearing a coat or hoodie. There are no other similarities.

Fanon

Both characters are fairly popular in the fandoms they come from. They are both featured in popular ships (Komahina and Sans/Reader) and multiple forms of fan art. With their fame as fan favorites, however, backlash and ironic jokes have formed.

The ship sailed as a Joke Ship made popular by Skeletortilla on Tumblr. As a joke, they made a MikuMikuDance video of the duo dancing to ASSGORE (Fingerfücking). On Tumblr, the post boomed and caused "Fingers in his Ass Sunday." It has some popularity on Instagram.

Due to Energy Sword Sunday forming around the same time, some have drawn the characters with energy swords. Specially, they are depicted holding the ones from the Halo video game series. A friendly rivalry also formed with shippers and Energy Sword Sunday.

During December of 2018, Tumblr denounced content that would be considered NSFW or offensive. This caused fans of the meme to make comics of the duo saying farewell to each other. After Tumblr changed its policies, Fingers in his Ass Sundays permanently stopped. Despite this, some fans continue to reference the meme on other websites.
