SasaMiya is the slash ship between Sasaki Shuume and Miyano Yoshikazu from the Sasaki and Miyano fandom.

Sasaki is Miyano's senpai and they meet each other for the first time when Sasaki saves Miyano from getting into a fight. After this, the both of them become quite close. And since they start sharing more stuff about each other, Sasaki one day asks Miyano to borrow some of the BL mangas he's so invested in. This makes Miyano nervous, but he gets extremely excited and attracted when he realizes that Sasaki liked them as much as he does. Later in class, Sasaki gifts Miyano some chocolate, and when Miyano's friends notice that he blushed, they warn him that Sasaki is a very problematic guy, and that he shouldn't hang around him.
Despite his friends warnings, Miyano decides to be the one giving gifts to Sasaki now, as a way to show his gratitude for the day Sasaki saved him. And when he does, Sasaki realized that Miyano is really pretty, which makes his heart pound. Later, since Valentine's Day is approaching, Sasaki wonders what to gift Miyano that day, and ends up invinting him to drink some hot chocolate with him. But that day, as Miyano was going to pick him up to his classroom after class, he overhears Sasaki's friends harassing him over the fact they found out he reads BL mangas. Sasaki unbotheredly tells them that he finds them entertaining and decides to walk away, which makes him even more attractive to Miyano.
So Sasaki ends up gifting Miyano the chocolates and on White Day, when you gift back the gifts people give you on Valentine's Day. And this makes Sasaki blush uncontrollably once he realizes it's Miyano who is now giving them back to him. So after this, the two of them become even more closer, falling into a comfortable routine with each other. One day, as they were both coming back home on the train, Miyano falls sleep on Sasaki's shoulder, and Sasaki whispers "I really like you" on his ear. When Miyano wakes up he thinks it was all his dream, but he can't stop thinking about it, and consequently acting weird around Sasaski.
This makes Miyano seriously wonder if he likes Sasaki. And on his way to class, he gets intercepted by one of Sasaki's friends that were making fun of him for reading BL. He tells Miyano that his girlfriend likes "those kind of mangas" so he got curious. And Miyano ends up making him understand that they're quite interesting. But at that moment, as the boy was going to graze Miyano's face, Sasaki appears and pulls Miyano to himself, quickly apologizing later, but still cutting the moment abruptly.
On the day of the school's Festival, Sasaki and Miyano go to a place to talk in private. And there, Sasasaki confesses his feelings for Miyano. Miyano doesn't seem taken aback by this and instead asks Sasaki what does he like about him. When Sasaki answers "his face", Miyano runs away nervously. And ends up wearing a face mask to school on the following days because he's very self-conscious about his face since he had been told in the past that his face looks "like a girl's," which he doesn't like. So this makes things awkward for the two of them later, although some jealous moments from Sasaki still happen. Like when Miyano meets with the girl he used to be attracted to. When Sasaki shyly asks him if he likes her, Miyano replies that he used to, but not anymore, which makes Sasaki hopeful. Also, one day as the two of them were walking home, Sasaki says they look like a couple, which doesn't seem to bother Miyano. This makes Sasaki blush.
So on the day of the play, the disciplinary council delegate brings Miyano the costume he has to wear, as he has to get dressed in a very femininely-presenting way for the play. And as he gets dressed. the delegate asks him if he's in love with anyone. So Miyano asks him what does it mean to like someone. And the delegate answers that it's when you can't stop thinking about the person. So Miyano immediately starts thinking about Sasaki and almost says his name out loud.
Sasaki later finds out Miyano was getting ready for the play so he pays him a visit, and as the two of them are alone, Miyano faces the window, embarrassed and not wanting Sasaki to look at him dressed that way. He thinks to himself why does he feel embarrassed now with Sasaki seeing him that way, when he never had any trouble with other people seeing him like this. Sasaki tells him that he shouldn't do stuff he feels pressured to, talking about his friends forcing him to participate in the play, and that he should do what he likes. But suddenly gets embarassed too. So Miyano is surprised to know how thoughtful Sasaki is, remembering the fact he doesn't feel comfortable being perceived "feminine." So he wonders if Sasaki likes him as well.
As Miyano was getting ready to leave for the play, Sasaki grabs him lightly, worrying about the fact he might be forcing himself to please his friends. But all Miyano can think about is how he fell in love with Sasaki.
- “I like him. I really like him! I want to take care of him. I like him so much! I like him!”

At that moment, they lock eyes with each other and Sasaki pulls him closer into a hug, which makes Miyano realize just how he loves him. As the two of them stay in each other's embrace for a while, Miyano realizes that he has feelings for Sasaki.
So all throughout the day, Miyano wonders if he should confess to Sasaki as well, really uncertain about it. He even goes to seek some guidance from the disciplinary council delegate that tells him that he should have more confidence to accomplish his goals, and all Miyano thinks about is confessing to Sasaki. So later in the day, as Sasaki was checking the classrooms as a council delegate, he stumbles across Miyano again, as the both of them see the fireworks through the window.
As Sasaki tells him that this is the best festival he's ever been to, because he had Miyano with him, Miyano asks him if he could wait a little bit for him to give thim a definitive answer about his feelings. Sasaki says he'll wait as much time as Miyano needs, and as the two of them touch hands, he can't stop thinking about how much his heart is pounding. Sasaki then places his head on Miyano's shoulder and repeats he'll be waiting for him.
As Sasaki tells him that this is the best festival he's ever been to, because he had Miyano with him, Miyano asks him if he could wait a little bit for him to give thim a definitive answer about his feelings. Sasaki says he'll wait as much time as Miyano needs, and as the two of them touch hands, he can't stop thinking about how much his heart is pounding. Sasaki then places his head on Miyano's shoulder and repeats he'll be waiting for him.
- “He's being vulnerable. I like it when he does that. I want to hug him then. I want to take care of him. Do I like him the same way he likes me? I'm happy I'm needed. I'm happy he enjoys my hobby with me. That's not all it is. I can't say it yet. I don't want to hurt him. I can't just try it and find out. I don't want to decide I was mistaken.”

On the following days, Miyano slowly realizes that confessing his feelings for Sasaki takes a lot of bravery. He realizes that as two men, they'll face prejudice from homophobic people and he realizes as well that confessing in front of others is not as easy as he thought it'd be. So he keeps having second-thoughts about how and when to do it. And each time he tries to, he hesitates.
So after another intervention from the disciplinary council delegate, Miyano finally decides to confess to Sasaki, always getting interrupted. Until he's finally lone with Sasaki, and then Sasaki realizes that whenever they walk side by side, Miyano always changes the arm his bag is hanging from, to not hit him. He finds this so caring, so he leans closer to give him a kiss, but their moment gets interrupted once again, and Sasaki ends up walking away. Miyano runs back to the disciplinary council and tells them he'll be going. So he runs out of school, searching for Sasaki, decided to confess. However, he can't find him anywhere. With a little help from his friends, he ends up doing so and they finally have some quiet time alone as the sun sets.
As they stand there, facing each other, they hold hands and blush. Until finally Sasaki asks Miyano if he can hold him. When he shyly replies "of course", Sasaki laughs because he finds him adorable. But Miyano is quick to say he also finds Sasaki adorable. So as they hug and hold hands tenderly for a while, Sasaki asks him what he thinks of kissing. And Miyano replies that if it's with Sasaki, he wants it. Miyano grazes his face, and Sasaki kisses his hand and then they share a passionate kiss. After this, Miyano asks Sasaki if he wants to be his boyfriend, and the two of them start dating.
- Sasaki – “Sorry, your heartbeat is so loud.”
- Miyano – “Don't listen to it, then... It's because this is my first time.”
- Sasaki – “My heart is racing too.”

SasaMiya is the most popular ship within the Sasaki and Miyano fandom. This is due to the fact that the story revolves around the development of their relationship. Most fans of their relationship often cite how much they loved seeing their bond subvert all BL tropes and the stereotypes they put into gay men and blb relationships in real life. Fans also love the way they always respect each other and care deeply for what the other feels and thinks before making decisions on their behalf.

Trivia[]
- Miyano was the first person Sasaki ever fell in love with or even felt attracted to; Sasaki was the first boy Miyano ever fell in love with, as he had only girl crushes in the past.
- Their story subverts most BL manga tropes since the manga explores same-sex couples discrimination, consent and love beyond school. Miyano is also the "protector" in their relationship, which he himself says when he promises to Sasaki that he will take care of him. Which "breaks the mold" when it comes to BL once again, since Sasaki would typically be in that role if it were other series. Also, there is no "seme" and "uke" in their relationship, which Miyano himself points out when he tells Sasaki that he isn't an "uke", which Sasaki replies with "you are you, Miya-chan." And both of them have thoughtful conversations where they discuss how their relationship is developing and always deeply caring about what the other feels.
