DUCHESS OF MANDALORE
Palpatine tells Padmé that with the new evidence they avoided the occupation of Madalore. Padmé says that the one to thank is Satine, since she was the one to find the evidence. Satine then enters the room and says that she requires no thanks. Padmé then tells her that they held an emergency session, and the Republic will be standing down.
CORRUPTION
Satine calls on Padmé to come to Madalore for aid. Padmé arrives and they both greet each other with a curtsy. Padmé says it's good to see her, and Satine thanks her for coming. Satine knows that Mandalore's decision to stay neutral has caused distress in the Senate, and Padmé says that if there are trade concerns they can talk. She assures her that there are those in the senate who haven't forgotten Mandalore, and would give them aid if they needed it. Satine needs more open trade routes, and Padmé says that the senate is making progress. Satine asks for Padmé to forgive her, as she didn't bring Padmé there to discuss politics, but to show her the new Mandalore.
As they take off, Padmé comments that it's not the typical Mandalorian welcome and that Senator Organa teased about her having a royal court waiting for her. Satine wanted to greet her herself before the others. They then ride into the city where the Mandalorian citizens greet Padmé in mass. Padmé comments that this is more of a Mandalorian welcome and Satine says that they are a people of tradition.
During a meeting, Padmé notes to Satine that the Prime Minister seems overwhelmed. Satine says that if Padmé is offering her services as a negotiator, then Padmé is welcomes to try. Padmé thinks they might listen to a new voice and steps forward. Padmé tries to talk, but the members of the counsel end up arguing more. Satine then calls the meeting adjourned and decides to reconvene when everyone is calmer.
At dinner that night, Satine asks how Padmé feels about the war with the separatists. Padmé says it's complicated, and that even though Palpatine says things are going well, her sources say otherwise. Satine asks how that makes her feel, and Padmé admits that there's time's where she wishes for neutrality and not just in the war. Satine says that there's too much corruption in the republic, and Padmé says that there are still those who work to overcomes it. Satine decides that they should visit the new hospital tomorrow, and see true good at work.
