Say'riki is the femslash ship between Say'ri and Tiki from the Fire Emblem fandom.
Canon[]
Fire Emblem Awakening[]
Say'ri was once a princess of Chon'sin but had to leave her country after Walhart invaded, killed her parents and her brother Yen'fay allied with him. While gathering members to form a small resistance against Walhart, Say'ri eventually met Tiki and began acting as a guard to her. They later join forces with Chrom against Walhart and Grima.
In their support conversations Say'ri compliments Tiki's power on the battlefield, only for Tiki to fall asleep in front of her after having tired from the battle itself. Panicking, Say'ri begins to call for a healer before realizing she is only sleeping. Say'ri considers letting Tiki sleep as as she fears Tiki is actually far frailer than she first thought. This fully awakens Tiki who tells Say'ri intends to see the war through, though she teases how serious Say'ri is for wanting to stay by her side.
Later Say'ri frantically looks for Tiki as she is missing from camp, only to find that she wandered to a nearby village and was gifted some apples. Tiki offers Say'ri an apple but she refuses, still mad that Tiki left despite promising not to without Say'ri to guard her. Say'ri laments that's Tiki's behavior is unbecoming of The Voice but Tiki does not care for the title, nor does she want there to be distance between dragons and humans. Somewhat placated, Say'ri accepts the apple Tiki first offered to her which Tiki playfully shoves into Say'ri's mouth.
Their final support conversation takes place after Walhart's defeat. Say'ri and Tiki begin talking about how the war is coming to an end and the loss it has brought. Tiki asks if Say'ri is still grieving the death of Yen'fay, however when Say'ri says that she has accepted that his death was unavoidable, Tiki calls her a lair. She begs Say'ri to not hide behind a mask and instead to tell Tiki her true feelings, though this only angers Say'ri as she is unable to fully express the grief she feels. Tiki apologizes, stating that she was desperate to hear the contents of Say'ri's heart as she truly wishes to be her friend. She goes on to tell Say'ri that it is lonely for her to only have Say'ri by her side as a guard. When Say'ri asks if Tiki is fine with her being a friend despite Say'ri's lifespan being far shorter than hers, Tiki rebuffs her and ask she not deprive her the joy having Say'ri as a friend. Say'ri then agrees, admitting she likes Tiki a great deal and from that day on they will consider each other equals.
Quotes[]
- Tiki – “I am here of my own will. I wish to stay and be of use. Pray, do not push me away.”
- Say'ri – “On the contrary, my lady! I ask that you do not leave my side. The risks are simply too great for you to wander hill and dale alone.”
- Tiki – “Ah, Say'ri, always so serious! It is sweet of you to fret so. Very well. I give you my word.”
- Tiki – “Long have you stood at my side, Say'ri. Always faithfully, but never as a friend. Only as guard, disciple, and servant. I find it terribly lonesome. I think you are a beautiful person, Say'ri, and I would call you an equal. ...A friend.”
- Say'ri – “I fear my lifetime is but a few short days compared to yours. Would you still have me, knowing that I cannot stay for long?”
- Tiki – “Without a moment's hesitation. I am used to loss. Do not deprive me from the joy of ever HAVING.”
Fanon[]
Say'riki is a fairly popular within the Fire Emblem Awakening fandom, and especially well liked within femslash circles. As Tiki and Say'ri only have a small number of support conversations with other characters the fact that they share one has marked their relationship as particularly important. Their dynamic also falls easily into a lord and retainer, which is already a popular setup within the Fire Emblem fandom.
On AO3, it is the the most written for ship for both Tiki and Say'ri.
