Scarabina is the het ship between Scaramouche and Columbina from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
Columbina was introduced in the Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: A Winter Night's Lazzo, which is her only appearance so far. Even though she and Scaramouche have never interacted on-screen, both are members of the Fatui Harbingers. Columbina is the Third Harbinger, making her Scaramouche’s senior, as he was the Sixth.
In Scaramouche’s voiceline about Columbina, he mentions her as a "damsel" who seems oblivious and innocent in any situation, unconcerned by the world around her. He notes that, unlike him, the Traveler would likely be more inclined to avoid her due to their conscience. This could indicate that while Columbina presents herself as harmless, there is more to her than meets the eye.
Both Scaramouche and Columbina share a reputation for being mysterious and powerful. Scaramouche, known for his manipulative nature, is praised for his deep understanding of the world, a characteristic he likely shares with Columbina. Arlecchino describes her as giving unpredictable and strange answers, adding to her enigmatic persona. Tartaglia, while confused about her high rank, expresses unease around her, suggesting that her strength might rival that of a god. This idea is supported by Nahida, who explains that the top three Fatui Harbingers possess power that approaches a god level.[1] Though Scaramouche was ranked sixth, he too reached godhood at one point, as revealed in Where the Boat of Consciousness Lies, though Nahida later claims he was “unsuccessful.”[2] Regardless, his ascent to godhood shows that both he and Columbina share immense potential, even if their paths and personalities differ.
Quotes[]
- “Let me ask: what should you do if you were to encounter a "damsel" who is oblivious and innocent at any given time, and unconcerned and unfeeling in any given situation? If it were me, I could at least challenge her to a fight. But if it were you... with your conscience, I would stay away from her.”

Fanon[]
In fanworks, Columbina is often portrayed as a more social and friendly Harbinger, especially towards Scaramouche. Meanwhile, Scaramouche is shown to act normally around her, which stands out because he usually speaks negatively about the other Harbingers — except her. This has led some fans to believe that even in canon, he might view her differently.
Many believe Columbina has a deep connection to the Seelie — ancient beings in Teyvat who are said to be the fallen forms of angels. These Seelie wander the world and eventually return to their Seelie Court, which is where they seem to finally rest. Interestingly, the design on Columbina’s mask and headband matches the bottom of a Seelie Court, making fans think she might be one of them or descended from them. It was confirmed that if a Seelie falls in love with a human, they lose their memories and beauty as punishment:
- “If they dared gaze into another's eyes, and to one alone offer the love that was meant for all, Then not only would their divine beauty crumble into the wind, but their minds would fall to dust, Until from the fallen one's remains a Seelie would rise, forever drifting in search of fading memories to consume.”

But since Scaramouche isn’t human and he’s a puppet this “curse” wouldn’t affect their love. This is why many believe Columbina could still remember him even after he erased his existence from the world.
There’s also a popular headcanon that Columbina always keeps her eyes closed because if she makes eye contact with someone and feels love, she could lose her powers due to a curse placed on angels. Since it's not confirmed whether she’s a Seelie (devolved form of Angels), this theory adds to her mystery and makes the idea of her falling for someone like Scaramouche even more meaningful. Their bond is seen as quiet, forbidden, and deeply emotional — a love that defies the rules of Teyvat itself.
One of the main reasons fans enjoy this ship is their unique and contrasting designs:
Columbina is a pale young woman with long black hair featuring dark pink or magenta highlights, tied into two side braids with white ribbons forming X-shapes. She has feather-like white accessories on the back of her head, resembling dove wings. Her eyes are always closed and covered with a white lace X-shaped mask. While most of her outfit is hidden by her Harbinger cloak, she appears to wear gloves, a black and pink skirt, and a white ribbon bowtie around her neck. Her cloak also has a white gem. Scaramouche, on the other hand, is known for his slender build and strikingly beautiful face. He is short in height, with indigo hair and eyes, bold red eyeliner, and a confident, almost theatrical appearance. His outfit includes black shorts, sandals, and a traditional-style shirt with an Electro crest. He wears a large hat with curved hooks, dangling decorations, and a translucent black veil with the kanji 惡 (evil) written on it. His look is heavily inspired by traditional Japanese clothing.
Both characters are extremely popular in the Genshin Impact fandom. Many players are saving for Columbina in case she becomes playable in the future, just like how Scaramouche’s long-awaited release excited many fans. He first appeared in November 2020 and became playable as the Wanderer in December 2022.
Despite this, Scarabina is considered a rarepair in the fandom. It is often overshadowed by more popular ships such as Arlebina (Arlecchino x Columbina), ScaraLumi (Scaramouche x Lumine), and KazuScara (Kazuha x Scaramouche). However, the small community that supports Scarambina often appreciates the potential depth, mystery, and dynamic contrast between the two.

- ↑ Although Nahida states during The Kabukimono's Finale that Scaramouche "tried to achieve godhood" but "was unsuccessful" based on the Traveler's retelling of Scaramouche's story, Where the Boat of Consciousness Lies is filled with numerous indicators, including statements from Nahida herself, that Scaramouche did become a god in some form. As such, Scaramouche's godhood as shown in Where the Boat of Consciousness Lies takes precedence over Nahida's single contradictory line in The Kabukimono's Finale.
