Isaac and Scott are first seen interacting in episode 2x02, at lacrosse tryouts, in which Scott is trying to figure out the identity of the new werewolf he sensed. He doesn't have much time with his discovery as Isaac is taken away by police officers. Knowing the risks of leaving him alone during his first full moon, Scott and Stiles will try to help him out his temporary cell.

Their relationship starts as tentative at first because Isaac is Derek's beta, with which Scott has disagreements. But as an alliance to take down the Kanima forms, they become friends and learn to trust each other.

There are multiple instances of Scott worrying about Isaac, such as when he was taken by the police for his presumed involvement with his father's death, or at the party where Scott told him to be careful when trying to drug Jackson.

Season 3[]

In episode 3x01, Isaac ends up at the hospital after a bad encounters with the Alpha pack. When Melissa McCall asks him for his emergency contact, as Derek isn't answering, Isaac tells her to call Scott.

In episode 3x04, Isaac is kicked out by Derek, and takes refuge in the McCall house. He will remain residing in it with Scott and his mother, Melissa, until his departure at the end of the season.

In episode 3x05, Scott's yell of his name is the only thing that works to stop Isaac as he was beating Ethan, at that moment an enemy. This is a first show of Scott's True Alpha nature later fully revealed and a hint on how Isaac's loyalty towards an Alpha has switched from Derek to Scott.

In the second half of season 3, Scott and Isaac's relationship seems to be a bit tenser due to Isaac's new relationship with Scott's ex-girlfriend, Allison. Nevertheless, they remain allies and friends. When Scott himself begins a new relationship with Kira, he doesn't seem to to be as upset about it anymore.

Quotes[]

Isaac“They're leaving tonight during the game.”
Scott“So, why are you telling me?”
Isaac“I'm not telling you-- I'm asking you. I'm asking for your advice.”
Scott“From me? Why?”
Isaac“Because I trust you.”
