Fanon[]
Se-mi is a side character who's relatively popular in the fandom. People like her for her attitude, as she's determined and seems to be strong but also soft when needed. Fans also enjoy her interactions with other characters, especially with Nam-gyu and Min-su, as she tends to change her way of talking depending on who she's with. She is considered to be one of the prettiest characters in the show and many people wished she didn't die so soon, as we never got to learn much about her. Since the audience never got to learn about her past, fanworks like to either keep it a mystery as well or try to write their own version of why she joined the games.
People sometimes like to compare her looks to Nana Osaki from the anime 'Nana', as people think they share some similarities. As well as, the comparison usually comes up because of her ship with Jun-hee, as most people deem this ship to be the 'Nana' ship of the fandom because the two get compared to the main protagonists from the anime quite often.
On TikTok ever since an edit of her that used the song, Love Me by Lil Wayne it has sparked a meme where guys and girls would play that edit of her in the gym and caption it as "workout motivation".
