Sea Witch Sisters is the family ship between Ursula and Morgana from The Little Mermaid fandom.
Canon[]
Morgana and Ursula are sisters who were raised together in or near Atlantica. Morgana had a strained relationship with their mother, as she felt that she always preferred Ursula. Morgana was often compared to her elder sister, and told to act more like her. Even years later, she takes it out on anyone that compares her to her sister. Morgana holds some resentment against Ursula for this, but still is shown to love her sister deeply. At some point, Ursula was banished from the kingdom. It is unknown if Morgana was banished alongside her, but she is seen living far from Atlantica in the twelve years following Ursula's death. Morgana is also known as "Ursula's Crazy Sister", which suggests that they may have once worked together.
Following Ursula's death, Morgana decides to target the child of Ariel and Eric in an attempt to prove that she is just as good as her sister. Later her motivations seem to change, as she mentions taking revenge on those who killed her sister. This further reinforces just how complicated the relationship between the two sisters was. In a deleted scene, Morgana sings he song "Gonna Get My Wish". In it, she chides Ursula for "blowing it", and insists that she will be the one to succeed in taking over the kingdom where Ursula previously failed.
Morgana has not been mentioned since The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea. The 2016 prequel novel Poor Unfortunate Soul: A Tale of the Sea Witch features King Triton as Ursula's only sibling, and makes no mention of Morgana. Subsequent adaptations, including the 2023 live action film, follow this trend of Triton and Ursula being siblings and write Morgana out of the story. The Descendants franchise gives Ursula a sister, but her name is Uliana rather than Morgana. It is unknown if the creators drew inspiration from Morgana when creating her character.
Fanon[]
Sea Witch Sisters is not a very popular relationship in the fandom. This is mostly to due with the fact that Morgana is only present in a straight-to-video sequel, which were not very highly regarded upon their release. Most fans do not see Disney sequels as canon, and many ignore watching them all together due to their reputation of being low-budget and poor carbon-copies of the originals. However, those who have seen The Little Mermaid II tend to enjoy it, or at the very least have childhood nostalgia for it. These are the fans who enjoy the relationship between Ursula and Morgana the best, and invest time into creating fanworks for them.
