Canon[]
It is unknown when or how Sam and Freddie met. It was probably through their mutual friend Carly.
iCarly (2007)[]
Season 1
- “Yeah, she's always putting me down and calling me mean names, and every time I get an ice cream cone, she takes it and she licks it. She just licks it all over the place, just to bug me!”
- — Freddie describes his relationship with Sam
Initially, the relationship between Sam and Freddie is not particularly deep. They generally insult each other with Sam teasing the boy, and that she even gets to be physically abusive to him.
Carly and Sam have to film auditions for the school talent show and when her brother can't give him his, Carly borrows a camera from Freddie. The guy then brings her a lot of audiovisual equipment (she is a huge tech enthusiast) trying to impress her because of his huge crush on her.
Freddie and Sam, quickly get into a fight after she teases him, and if he doesn't leave it's just because of Carly. In a moment of pause, Freddie records Carly (and Sam, but only because he was close to her). By mistake, the brunette also uploads the video of the two of them online, making fun of a teacher and getting many views.
At the request of Carly and Sam, Freddie cancels the video, but the success is such that Carly decides to start a webshow and Freddie proposes the name "iCarly" for the webshow, and proposes to take care of the technical part. Sam instead becomes co-host. At the end of the first episode, the three (plus one of the guests of the day) embrace as a group.
After a while, a girl considers Freddie cute and Sam offensively comments that it's impossible. This girl, Valerie, accepts Carly's offer to go out with him, and Freddie too. Carly stops Freddie's mother from ruining the date and stops Sam from increasing Freddie's nervousness and spying on him. But when the blonde spies on the brunette using her webcam without him noticing, Carly agrees to spy on her friend even though she says she's wrong.
Freddie and Valeria start, but Valerie decides to do a web show herself and convinces Freddie to leave iCarly to work with her. The brunette is upset and summoned Sam tries to make him change his mind. Sam arrives to break into Freddie's house and take him to Carly's in weight.
Sam tells her friend to leave Valerie, but Carly admits it's only fair that Freddie wants to help his girlfriend and not the two of them. Although he is clearly sorry and embarrassed, Freddie appreciates Carly's behavior and finds her and Sam another technician. Without him, however, the show goes very badly. At that point Valerie also suggests that Sam come and work with her. Carly gets angry knowing that Valery is just taking advantage of Freddie and tries to warn him about her, but the boy doesn't believe either her or Sam.

Sam and Freddie hugging.
When Valerie tells Freddie to try to convince Sam to join them, the boy realizes that his friends have been telling the truth and leaves the girl. However, he refuses to go back to iCarly, because he declares that Valerie was right in saying that he is not considered important for the show. Distraught Carly says she has always recognized the importance of her contribution, and Freddie admits it, but she also asks Sam for an acknowledgment and the brunette forces the blonde to give it to him. After hugging young Benson, and telling him that he matters as much as she and Carly do to the show, the blonde smut him.
Nevel an enemy of the team, sabotages the site by infiltrating Freddie's computer and since they should suspend the show, until he can solve the situation and a famous band, should play iCarly, the young Benson decides to make pan for focaccia in Nevel, sabotaging his site. This leads to a rare appreciation of Freddie by Sam. When Freddie is attacked by Nevel's grandmother after the trio infiltrates his home, Carly and Sam rescue him. Later Sam accidentally learns the principal's password and username and uses them to raise Carly and Freddie's votes (he does it to the latter, just to pay off a loan). However, she acts without his knowledge and Freddie is strongly against it and he and Carly work together to remedy. Unfortunately they are discovered and almost arrested, managing to get away only thanks to a lie, made at the last moment. After they both feel guilty and get angry at the blonde. Worn out with remorse, Carly decides to confess everything to the principal, and to her surprise she discovers that Freddie has already taken the blame, but then Sam decides to confess.

Freddie provokes Sam to get insulted and steal money from her.
At one point Carly comes to tell Sam that he should be kinder to Freddie, prompting her to bet to pay him five dollars for every insult. Sam accepts the bet, immediately finding herself in trouble. Freddie for his part, happy to be the one to torment her for once, immediately begins to provoke her.

Sam begs Freddie to get insulted for free.
By not insulting Freddie for days, Sam has a real withdrawal crisis he has no money to give him to let off steam with an insult. The girl arrives to beg the young Benson to grant her a free insult, but the boy refuses. When Spencer gives her forty dollars, Sam spends it all on insults, much to Freddie's delight.
When Sam gets a crush on Freddie's acquaintance, Jonah, Carly asks the brunette to get the boy to ask Sam out. Freddie initially refuses, but Carly manages to convince him, almost immediately. Just speaking well of Sam, it seems to make Freddie almost vomit and is baffled when Jonah agrees to go out with her. The disgust persists for days.
Soon after Jonah tries to kiss Carly and she hides him from Sam, confiding in Freddie. Freddie asks if she intends to talk to Sam about it and when she says she won't because the blonde would be upset, he gets her point of view, looking sorry for Sam. But Sam discovers everything and gives Jonah a good lesson, much to Freddie's amusement. When a boy starts abusing Freddie, Sam initially lets Carly do it, but then steps in when the situation gets worse.
- Freddie – “You know, they saw when a girl constantly rips on a guy, it really just means she has a crush on him.”
- Sam – “Yeah, but I wasn't ripping on a guy, I was ripping on you.”

Freddie forces Carly and Sam to make peace.
One day Freddie points out to Sam that usually a girl mistreats a guy a lot, because she has a crush on him. Sam, however, declares that he does not even consider him a boy. When Sam and Carly have a bad fight shortly thereafter, Freddie tries to make up for them, but is clearly more lenient towards Carly. Freddie makes Carly and Sam unfold and pulls their hair if one interrupts the other. However he only throws them at Carly once and over at Sam.
When Carly gets the chance to move to a private school, Sam decides to sabotage her interview for fear of ruining their friendship and easily persuades Freddie to help her. However, the boy initially gets angry, as in order to get him out of the classroom, he told the lie that his mother had a car accident.
A famous producer decides to bring iCarly on TV, but Sam is fired shortly after, amid the thunderous protests of Freddie. This implies that despite often arguing, Freddie recognizes Sam's importance to the program.
Season 2
Both Sam and Carly have a crush on Freddie's friend Shane, and Freddie seems ticked off by it. He later tries to get Carly to give up and Sam to become Shane's girlfriend, so that he has more chances with the brunette and Sam seems upset by that. Freddie then helped Sam try to win the challenge she and Carly had organized (the first to receive a kiss from Shane, she would be the only one who could go out with him). Eventually Shane, annoyed by the immaturity of the two friends, refuses both.
Freddie gets fed up with Sam continuing to scrounge money from him and Carly and hearing him, she decides to pay them back everything she has borrowed. When she finds out that it is more than $ 500, she is shocked and Freddie points out that she has been borrowing money for two years and angrily she closes her fingers in his PC. Sam jokingly asks iCarly viewers to give her the money to pay back Carly and Freddie, but the audience takes her seriously and sends her the money. As this is against the law, the friends are forced to send their money back and Sam is forced to find a job. Stress leads Sam to cry and she lets Freddie out with an excuse, not to be seen while she whimpers. In order to keep the money, you have to give something in return, so Carly and Freddie start selling candy, to cover Sam's debt, but Freddie rightly notes that the blonde would not accept a handout. This is a sign of how well the brunette knows her well. Eventually the blonde gets them with a ploy devised by Carly, but she buys us a trampoline instead of making them. Since she also allows them to use it, Freddie and Carly don't complain.
Because of a joke broadcast about iCarly, the caretaker of the building, Lewbert gets hurt. To Freddie's horror, his mother who looks after him, she seems to begin to fall in love with the hideous caretaker. For once he even manages to silence Sam, and he is so desperate that he gets hurt on purpose as suggested by Sam, just to keep his mother away from that man.
- “That was Freddie, who, last week, handcuffed me to a nerd. So now, guess what? ...Freddie's never kissed a girl. Never. Not once. I heard him say so myself, and Carly's a witness. Okay, later.”
- — Sam humiliates Freddie on the internet
Freddie takes revenge on Sam's joke, handcuffing her to Gibby and when he finds out that Freddie has never kissed anyone, the blonde says it on iCarly. Everyone starts making fun of Freddie and the boy is devastated. Carly scolds Sam very harshly and so she decides to admit to iCarly that she has never kissed anyone either.
- “But um…before we start our meatball war, I wanna say something. On the last iCarly ... I told you guys that Freddie never kissed anyone ... and that was really personal, and I shouldn't have said it on the show. And for all you people out there who've been teasing Freddie about it, lay off! 'Cause I bet a whole lot of you haven't kissed anyone either ... including me. Yeah, that's right, I've never kissed anyone. So if you want to tease someone about it, tease me. Which is a bad idea unless you live near a hospital!”
- — Sam humbles himself to ask Freddie's forgiveness
Sam: What?
Freddie: Nothing, it's ...
Sam: Tell me!
Freddie: No, it's dumb ...
Sam: Say it!
Freddie: Okay. I was just gonna say--
Sam: That we should kiss?
Freddie: You're going to break my arm now, right?
Sam: No.
Freddie: Well, should we? Just so both of us can get it over with?
Sam: Hm … [sighs] Just to get it over with.
Freddie: Just to get it over with.
Sam: And you swear we go right back to hating each other as soon as it's over?
Freddie: Oh, totally. And we'll never tell anyone.
Sam: Never. Well, lean.
Freddie: Well that was um…
Sam: Nice.
Freddie: Yeah, nice.
Sam: Good work.
Freddie: Thank you. You too.
Freddie: Hey, I hate you.
Sam: Hate you too.
- Sam and Freddie decide to have their first kiss.

Sam and Freddie decide to have their first kiss.
Soon after, Sam goes to personally apologize to Freddie, and Freddie gets the idea that the two of them kiss to get rid of the thought of having given the first kiss. Made clear that their relationships won't change, the two kiss and it seems like they like it.
When Freddie criticizes a web star, saying he doesn't find his videos funny, begins to get bullied and gets kicked out of every club he frequents, Sam seems sorry for him.
- Freddie – “You know, maybe Carly's right. Maybe you're just jealous of Missy!”
- Sam – “Okay, just... forget it. Don't believe me.”
- Freddie – “Tell me one reason why I should believe you.”
- Sam – “Cause I came here. Have I ever come here for help before? For anything?”
- — Sam asks Freddie for help
Missy, an old friend of Carly's, returns to live in Seattle and jealous of Sam tries to cut her out of her friend's life, going so far as to give her some rancid chocolate. Freddie appears displeased with Sam's condition and even though the blonde has guessed what's going on and she confides in him, young Benson initially doesn't believe her. When Sam goes to ask Freddie for help and he doesn't believe her, the blonde looks disappointed and walks away disconsolately.

Sam asks Freddie for help.
Freddie calls her back, asking her a reason to believe her and she notices that the fact that she has humbled herself to the point of going to ask for his help should be enough. Eventually Freddie wins a six-month cruise, but passes the prize to Missy, so she can leave and stop harassing Sam.
Sam's twin sister Melanie comes to town, but Freddie who has suffered some pranks from Sam and Carly, doesn't believe it and thinks they are making fun of him again. He even comes to believe that Spencer is involved.
Eventually Freddie arrives to invite Melanie to come out in order to unmask her and when the girl kisses him, he is shocked to the point of running away (always believing that it was Sam who kissed him).
The next day, finding himself in front of Sam, realizing that now he doesn't want to change his mind, Sam decides to agree with Freddie, letting him believe that she was the one who kissed him and that there is no Melanie, only to let him think he was right. He later seems to find it disgusting that Melanie kissed Freddie, even though she did too.
Season 3
Sam: You know that kid, Freddie?
Carly: Yes, I know Freddie.
Sam: We kissed.
Carly: What?
Sam: Me and Freddie kissed! You know ...
Carly: YOU AND FREDDIE REALLY KISSED!?

Sam inadvertently confesses that she kissed Freddie.
- Sam inadvertently confesses that she kissed Freddie.
Sam has to go to the dentist and to calm her down he makes her inhale exhilarating gas. Completely numbs the blonde she confesses to Carly that she kissed Freddie and her friend freaks out, probably out of jealousy.
Eventually Freddie confesses to Carly what happened after she asks him insistently and when she says she wants to talk to Sam about it, Freddie begs her not to, because he knows the blonde would beat him.

Freddie and Sam try to convince Carly that they are not in a relationship.
Freddie turns out to be a good prophet: as soon as Carly confronts the subject with Sam, the blonde sees him enter the house Shay jumps on him, and seems very angry and hurt believing that he has broken his oath, but as soon as Carly admits how she found out, calms down. Although they go to great lengths to make her understand that they are not in a relationship and that kissing was just an experiment, Carly continues to pester them with questions. Both Freddie and Sam seem pissed off, perhaps because they enjoyed the kiss and don't want to explain their relationship to Carly. Rare case, while they are in trouble they both blame the brunette and Sam, unlike the latter, does not blame Freddie for anything. Neither Sam nor Freddie respond when Carly wants to know if they enjoyed kissing.
A Sadie Hawkins dance arrives, but Sam doesn't invite anyone, saying she doesn't like any of the school kids. Sam says she thinks it should be a guy to invite her while she stares at Freddie. Sam later states on iCarly that her friend needs a date, probably to prevent her from taking Freddie with her. When Sam is later rejected by Gibby, Freddie laughs at her and she almost beats him. Later, the brunette forces her to help him and Spencer deal with the guys who have decided to try dating Carly.

Sam sees Carly and Freddie dancing.
In the end, Carly and Freddie's dates don't go well and the two start dancing with each other. When she joins them and sees them dancing together, with a dreamy and happy expression, Sam is clearly very sad. The two do not see her and the blonde leaves without saying a word, continuing to stare at them with a sad look, presumably jealous and unhappy.
Over time, Sam and Freddie seem to begin to become kinder and more cooperative with each other. Even as they continue to argue and Sam bullies Freddie, the animosity between them has clearly subsided.
After a bad fight, Sam and Carly decide to stop working together and the blonde looks stunned when Carly announces that Freddie will be working with her, and says she has turned her back on him. Freddie retorts that Sam didn't ask for her cooperation, which implies that the blonde took her for granted.
Angry Sam claims that she has the same rights as Carly to Freddie, and then tries to bribe him. Seeing how sad young Benson got to see her and Carly arguing, he blames her friend, showing a rare interest in Freddie's feelings. When Carly is in danger of being hit by a van, Freddie runs in front of her and pushes her away saving her and being hit in her place. Sam appears very worried about him and rushes to inform Spencer. When she discovers that Carly has given Freddie a kiss, Sam appears shocked, perhaps because she is jealous.
Sam: Remember two years ago when I dated that guy Eric Mosby - kid with the big nose?
Freddie: Sure, Noseby Mosby.
Sam: Uh-huh. And remember how he tried to get me to be his girlfriend for like six months and I kept saying,"Get away from me, or I'll kill you"? And then he bought me a subscription to the Bacons of the World Club, and then boom, I thought I was in love with the guy?
Freddie: I'm listening.
Sam: I was never in love with him; I was in love with the foreign bacon that kept showing up at my door every month ... like a beautiful, greasy dream.
Freddie: Uh, I doubt that bacon can make you think you're in love with someone.
Sam: You ever had Bolivian bacon?
Freddie: No.
Sam: It changes you ...
Freddie: Well, I didn't buy Carly any foreign bacon, I saved her life!
Sam: And that's Carly's bacon! She's not in love with you, she's in love with what you did.
Freddie: You just can't stand the idea of Carly and me as a couple.
Sam: Very true, it makes me wanna puke up blood. But still; what I say is true; and you know it!
- Sam tries to convince Freddie that Carly doesn't really love him.

Sam tries to convince Freddie that Carly doesn't really love him.
Soon after, Carly and Freddie become a couple. Freddie jokingly asks Sam if she's jealous and she denies it, but then tells Freddie that Carly probably started dating him just out of gratitude. She shortly afterwards admits that she is disgusted that Carly and Freddie are dating, possible jealousy. Eventually Freddie realizes Sam is right and breaks up with Carly. This shows that Sam's opinion is important to him.
When Sam is arrested, Freddie who has always said he can't stand her, cares a lot more than Carly who is the blonde's best friend and states that it's impossible to do the show without Sam. Carly, who instead wants to do the show at all costs because her father will also watch it, does not think about it for a moment before replacing her with Spencer a decision that leaves Freddie baffled, although he probably does not object because of her friendship with Spencer .
When the Bigfoot craze explodes, Freddie and Sam are part of the group of those who believe it does not exist, while Carly is convinced it does. They both don't seem to like the idea of talking about Bigfoot on iCarly.
Season 4
Discovering that Carly has never made a joke, Sam urges her to do so and Freddie agrees with her. Despite Freddie bragging about a joke that isn't much, Sam doesn't insult him, which isn't much of her. When Sam says she has a crush on Spencer, Freddie appears dazed.
The trio decide to make and sell t-shirts on iCarly. When they discover that Sam makes children work to make her part, Carly and Freddie are baffled and scold her harshly. Freddie proposes that he and Carly take care of half of the children and both girls agree. Freddie later pushes Sam to apologize to the children.
A superfan on the show asks his fiancée to marry him live. The accepted woman and the man then asks Sam and Carly to be his bridesmaids, Freddie comments that they would be gorgeous bridesmaids. In the past, Freddie would NEVER make a statement implying that Sam was attractive.

Freddie forces Sam to tell a guy Carly likes that the two of them aren't together.
The group goes to the Webicon at a convention for web stars and Freddie discovers that he is very popular with the show's female fans, so much so that they grab him. Very worried Carly asks Sam to help him and after she retrieves him, she fixes her clothes. Freddie, however, enjoys his popularity and throws himself back among the maddened girls, and perhaps jealous Sam refuses to help him again. As a joke during the convention, Sam claims that Carly and Freddie are in love, but Freddie gets very angry, because Adam (a guy who came with them because he is interested in Carly) walks away angry feeling teased, Freddie scolds her harshly saying that Carly Adam really likes it. At one time Freddie would have been just glad he took out a rival, but that could mean his interest in Carly is waning.
Sam then admits that she was joking and when fans say she must be Freddie's girlfriend then, she denies, but she just goes there, whereas she once would have beaten up anyone who dared to say she liked Freddie.
Freddie needs help with the technical part and so the group decides to hire an intern. When Carly and Sam decide to hire a handsome, but stupid and incompetent guy, Freddie is shocked and even seems jealous. Out of spite, Freddie hires a beautiful and stupid intern, Ashley and both Sam and Carly, who seem angry and jealous. Eventually Carly gives in to Freddie's blackmail and agrees to send Cort away if he fires Ashley. Sam is stunned when it turns out that Ashley is a very intelligent girl who was acting stupid at Freddie's request, to get Carly to fire Cort.

Freddie questions Sam.
When Sam asks Freddie if he can help him and another boy, Brad work on a science project for school (an app that detects feelings), Freddie is incredulous, but finally accepts. Sam later begins to neglect Carly, to start hanging out with Brad and Freddie. When Sam proves very nice and helpful by going to get them food and the camera to Freddie, the latter suspects that he wants to play some tricks on him, but seems to believe the girl when she assures him that she has no plans to prank him. Freddie then tests the app on his friend who declares that the young Puckette is in love with her and he is incredulous. The boy rushes to talk to Carly about it and the two deduce that Sam has fallen in love with Brad. Unlike Carly, Freddie doesn't seem to want to help Sam come to Brad as a sign of possible jealousy.

Sam and Freddie kiss for the second time. In some ways it's their real first kiss.
Sam doesn't like Carly trying to leave her alone with Brad and angrily reiterates that she doesn't love him.
Sam: That's it; get outta here before I do a double fist dance on your face!
Freddie: You can threaten your double fist face dancing all you want. But Carly's still right. [more gently] Look, I know it's scary for you to put your feelings out there. 'Cause you never know if the person you like is gonna like you back. Everyone feels that way. But you never know, what might happen if you don't--
Freddie: [after the kiss. In shock] I … Wh ...
Sam: Sorry.
Freddie: It's cool.
Later Freddie starts looking for Sam and after finding her the two argue. Sam incredibly tries to deny that he hates Freddie and even tries to threaten him to make him go away. Freddie, however, remains with her and tries to encourage her to declare herself, but suddenly she kisses him. Right after that, the two look stunned, but Freddie says the kiss was good.
Iparty with Victorious Carly begins a relationship with a boy named Steven who paces back and forth between Seattle and Los Angeles, as her parents are divorced and live in their respective cities. Taking advantage of this, Steven in Los Angeles is dating another girl Tori Vega. When Carly accidentally finds a photo of Steven and Tori on her web, Freddie begins to magnify the girl's beauty, but unlike Carly, Sam doesn't seem bothered by it. This may be because Sam herself has recognized Tori's immense charm, but also because she believes she doesn't have to worry about a girl who lives more than a thousand miles away and doesn't know Freddie. Curiously, no mention is made of the kiss between Sam and Freddie. Although it aired later, the crossover with Victorious is supposed to be set shortly before.
Season 5
Sam: Why'd you come here?
Freddie: To figure out why you checked yourself into a mental hospital!
Sam: You wanna know why?
Freddie: Kinda!
Sam: Cause I hate you!
Freddie: Then why'd you kiss me?!
Sam: Cause I...! ... I like you...
Freddie: So, you hate me ... and you like me ...?
Sam: Now you see why I need to be in here? Ah, I got problems. I can't think straight, I can't eat, I--I--
Freddie: Look, Sam, I get that you're feeling a little--
Sam: Oh, who cares! So I kissed you. So ... so maybe I do like you a little bit. It doesn't matter 'cause ... there's no way I'd ever go out with you or be your little girlfriend and ...
Freddie: Look, can we talk about the kiss?
Sam: Yeah, uh, actually, let's never talk about it, alright?
Freddie: Sam ... Don't kill me ... I was just gonna say ... no matter what happened that night, or what you're feeling right now ... I'm telling you You're not any more mentally unstable than you have been your whole life!
Sam: You really mean that?
Freddie: I do.
Sam: Kay ... let's get out of here
Freddie: Good. Sure.
- Freddie convinces Sam that she is not crazy.

Freddie convinces Sam that she is not crazy.
Sam is so shocked to have fallen in love with Freddie, that believing she has gone mad, she is interned in a psychiatric hospital, without notifying anyone. Freddie and Carly worried about her track her down. Freddie manages to convince Sam that she is not crazy (or that at least she is no more crazy than before), but being the blonde underage, she cannot launch the asylum without the authorization of her mother who is in Tijuana. Spencer then disguises himself as a woman and passes himself off as Pam Puckett, but runs into an acquaintance of his who recognizes him and is thus caught.
Freddie: Hey, it's me, Freddie. So, uh ... a lot of people have been talking about whether Sam and I should, ya know, "go out" with each other - and it's like everyone's wondering if Sam is crazy for wanting to. But nobody asked me how I feel.
Sam: We talked about it.
Freddie: No, you talked. You told me how you feel, while you ate a quesadilla. Anyway, yeah, it's important how Sam feels, but how I feel is important too.
Sam: OK, Benson, we get it! You wanna humiliate me on the web in front of millions of people, go ahead and just do it, I don't care! Get back at me for all the mean things I've sa... You mean that?
Freddie: Mmm hm ... so I guess we're both insane.
- Freddie and Sam become a couple.
Eventually the group is forced to broadcast iCarly from the asylum and Freddie says, live, that no one asked him how he felt about the kiss, causing Sam to get defensive thinking he wanted to humiliate her by rejecting her live. However, instead of taking revenge for years and years of teasing, Freddie silences her by kissing her and the two become a couple.

Sam and Freddie make up after an argument.
Due to their great character differences, Sam and Freddie, despite loving each other, often argue and start using Carly as a couple counselor. The young Shay initially tries to help her friends, but eventually gets tired of being bothered all the time and in the most absurd moments and when Sam and Freddie take her on a date, demanding that she solve their problems, staying on the sidelines if she goes. all right, she explodes and makes a scene telling them that if they don't stop fighting they don't have to be a couple. The two seem saddened by this, probably because they regret not working as a couple.

Freddie refuses to be bribed by showing that Sam is worth much more than a hundred thousand dollars to him.
Freddie begins to devote himself more and more to the blonde, completely ignoring Carly, so as not to frame her during the shoot. This had never happened when he was interested in other girls, a sign that Sam is very special to him. Sam in turn becomes all sugar with Freddie and begins to take out all his aggression on Gibby, which he obviously doesn't like and tries to sabotage their relationship, revealing it to Freddie's mother, who obviously disapproves of her son dating someone like Sam. On the advice of young Gibson, Marissa buys her son a palladium bar promising to give it to him if he dumps Sam. But Freddie angrily refuses to be bribed by showing that Sam is worth much more than a hundred thousand dollars to him.

Freddie forgives Sam.
Carly lets herself be spurred on by Marissa and Gibby and to get Sam and Freddie to break up she tells them that if Freddie was not accepted to a summer camp he really wanted to go to, it was Sam who modified his application by filling it with stupid. This happened before she was with him and when the boy expresses regret at being rejected, the blonde appears to feel guilty. When Marissa prints the question and brings it to her son, Sam panics. Shortly after, however, Carly, who regretted what she did, joins her friends and convinces Freddie not to leave Sam. The two then share a kiss.

Sam and Freddie's last kiss.
Sam and Freddie begin to call each other by nicknames and huff in public. Soon after, Carly convinces each of them to prove some of the other's interests. The two try, but it ends in a terrible fiasco. At the same time, Spencer begins dating her old babysitter, but Carly eventually bursts out telling them they work better as friends than as a couple. Freddie and Sam feel and understand that it can also refer to them so after professing mutual love they decide to leave each other as too different. The two decide to spend one last evening together and then try to be together again if they become more compatible.

Freddie and Sam are perfectly capable of teaming up right after their breakup.
Despite their breakup, Sam and Freddie manage to remain friends and their relationships seem even improved, so much so that they even manage to make sure that their friend T-Bo who needs housing can rent a room in Freddie's house.
Despite this, Sam continues to tease Freddie, albeit less often than before. For his part, Freddie seems to tolerate Sam's jokes much more.

Sam tries to console Freddie.
Freddie is upset when he discovers that he is not highly regarded as an iCarly staff member by anyone who does not work with him. Since Carly has to go to her grandfather in Yakima, Freddie sets out to help Sam with the conduction, but neither Carly nor Sam are enthusiastic about it, even if they try not to offend him too much, and in the end they accept. Although Freddie's sketch doesn't go well, neither girl takes it out on him. Sam later tries to console Freddie.
Even when people suffer from eye damage due to Freddie's 3-D technology, none of Freddie's friends take it out on him. Season 6
Freddie gets a job at an electronics store, and soon after Sam is hired in the same store. The girl proves to be an excellent salesperson, so much so that she is promoted to her superior to Freddie. Freddie gets to make a scene and is fired and Sam decides to step down. Sam also expresses the belief that Freddie still loves her.

Sam checks Freddie's condition.
hen Freddie and Gibby pick up two girls, Sam looks pissed off and tries to screw up their catch. Discovering that the two pretend to have a band to impress the girls (they actually can't play), Sam sets them a concert, perhaps to prevent Freddie from becoming too popular with the girls. Freddie, however, by staging a fight with Gibby pretends that the band is disbanded and manages to avoid a fool. Sam seems worried about Freddie when she ends up on the ground and shortly after tries to appease the audience.

Sam and Freddie discuss getting back together.
When Sam calls Freddie to talk to him about something important, he asks her if she wants them to get back together. Sam hesitantly asks young Benson if he wants him, but the boy changes the subject.
Sam & Cat[]
Season 1[]
After Carly's departure, Sam also leaves the city and arrives in Los Angeles befriends a girl named Cat Valentine with whom she begins to cohabit. At one point Sam meets Cat's friend, Jade West, and the two bond very quickly. Cat, feeling left out, out of spite tricks Freddie into Los Angeles and begins spending time with him, making Sam jealous. On Jade's advice, Sam begins spending time with Robbie Shapiro, the boy Cat is in love with. Freddie realizes what happened and explains it to Robbie, but all in all he doesn't seem very angry. At the end of a series of events, Robbie and Freddie get hurt. Sam goes to visit his friend at the hospital and offers him to go get something to eat when they release him.
iCarly (2021)[]
Season 1[]
Unlike Carly who returns from Italy after a year, Sam does not return to live permanently in Seattle. Despite this, she and Freddie stay in touch, and her friend mentions her from time to time.
Songs[]
- "Running Away" by AM
- Some consider this to be the "Seddie song", since it played during their first kiss
- "Call Me" by Cari Kimmel
- Others consider this one to be their song, since it played during the iOMG promo (which featured their second kiss)
Fanon[]
Seddie is one of the three most popular ships within the iCarly fandom and has a strong rivalry with Creddie, sometimes along with Cam. Fans were hoping that with the revival of the series, Sam and Freddie would resume their relationship, however Sam's actress, Jennette McCurdy, refused to return.
The iCarly Wiki assigned both Seddie and Creddie a song (as mentioned above), a color and a food. Seddie's is purple (since Freddie is often wearing red during their moments, while Sam is wearing blue), this one has actually been alluded to in the show: The restaurant they were eating at ("The Pini's") during their date in iDate Sam & Freddie was decorated entirely in purple. Their food is the lasagna, since they gush over the Pini's lasagna in the aforementioned episode and feed each other with it during their date. Additionally, Seddie has an official jewel (the amethyst, because it's purple) and an official spot (the fire escape, where they had their first kiss).

Trivia[]
- Sam's first boyfriend was also called Freddie, but he was another person.
- Interestingly, both Carly and Sam ruined each other's romantic relationship with Freddie.
- The ship is mentioned in another series created by the same author Game Shakers.
- Seddie is one of the many couples linked by a love-hate relationship featured in Dan Schneider's shows. The others are Josh x Mindy, Quogan and to a lesser extent Bade. Seddie is the only one of these couples that didn't work out.
