Lupus Aureus Chapter: Act II[]
While investigating Cyrus’s disappearance into the desert, Cyno, Tighnari and the Traveler come across a camp with Sethos and two others. Cyno is about to go and ask them for information, but Tighnari makes him stay back and goes instead. Cyno reasons that given his background and appearance, it’s better for a neutral party like Tighnari to go and meet the strangers. Tighnari describes Cyrus’s appearance, but Sethos is looking past Tighnari at Cyno. Cyno comes over since they made eye contact. Sethos leads all of them inside the Temple of Silence. Eventually, they find that Cyrus was captured in order to lure in Cyno and get him to return his Ba fragment to the Temple of Silence so their glory can be restored.
In the down time before Cyno must make his choice on what to do, Tighnari asks to examine Sethos’s grandfather. Tighnari concludes that Bamoun only has a few days left to live, which Sethos knew as much. Cyno recognizes that Sethos sees things differently than Bamoun does, and suggests they find a way to resolve things on Sethos’s terms while Bamoun is still alive. Tighnari then notes that Cyno and Sethos are both in similar predicaments. Sethos suggests they take part in the Rite of Duels to settle things, three versus three. Tighnari assists Cyno as one of his teammates against Sethos.
Ruins Exploration: Fieldwise Center[]
In bringing Layla over to be evaluated by Tighnari, Sethos joined up with him and Cyno. The Traveler finds them all watching over Layla.
The three, along with others, go back to investigate the desert incident site. Sethos wants the other two involved not only for the extra help but also because it is connected to Tullaytullah, the origin of Tighnari’s people and where Hermanubis established the Temple of Silence. Once inside the ruin, there is a room that splits off into three, so the group splits up accordingly. Cyno, Sethos, and Tighnari travel down one path together, causing Sethos to recall the Rite of Duels, joking that they had come all the way out to the desert to gang up on him. The three find an open room and a fragmented stone slab. Each brings in a piece of it and they arrange it to reveal a picture of the Ibis King, the Crocodile King, and Hermanubis. Tighnari wonders why they are the only three of the Seven Pillars represented, to which Sethos supposes is because they were very close. Cyno thinks that’s like the three of them, and Sethos suggests they have someone inscribe them on a stone slab too.
Fanon[]
Sethnonari is more often seen as a friendship, especially given Cynonari’s popularity, but either way they are seen as a very wholesome trio. Immediately following the Rite of Duels, Cyno and Tighnari opened up to being Sethos’s friends, and arguably, they became some of the ones closest to Sethos. Their dynamic is liked for things like Sethos and Tighnari often both trying to get away from playing TCG, and Cyno’s jokes seeming to make either Sethos or Tighnari laugh, but never both at the same time. Yet sometimes Sethos and Cyno will both gang up on Tighnari with their shenanigans.
