Shadowcannon is the het ship between Kayn and Jinx from the League of Legends fandom.
Canon[]
In Runeterra, Kayn and Jinx have never canonically met. However, they are depicted fighting each other in the animated short KayPea: Spooky Jinx. They primarily interact in the Odyssey universe. In Odyssey, Jinx has feelings for Kayn which Kayn reciprocates to a degree.
In the Odyssey universe, Jinx is the pilot and weaponeer of the spaceship the Morning Star. While Kayn is an ordinal for the Locus Armada. He is determined to possess Sona because she has the ability to unlock his full potential with a magical substance called ora. However, Sona seeks refuge with the Morning Star crew, so Kayn pursues them in an attempt to get her. Thus causing Jinx and Kayn to be on enemy sides. Despite their enemy status, Jinx somehow develops a crush on him.
Jinx’s crush on Kayn is a somewhat major part of her character in Odyssey. Though it is primarily played for comedy/absurdity as opposed to a sincere romance. Jinx’s crush on Kayn is mentioned in her biography on the Odyssey page of the League of Legends website. In the animated short Odyssey: Welcome Aboard Jinx introduces several characters in the Odyssey universe, including Kayn, whom she expresses she finds “cool” and is attracted to, despite being her enemy. While fighting Kayn in the game mode Odyssey: Extraction, Jinx expresses her affection for Kayn, to the bafflement of her team member, Ziggs.
The feelings are not purely on Jinx’s side. It is not focused on very often, but Kayn also expresses attraction to Jinx. Through his voice lines Kayn expresses interest in Jinx and that he finds her “cute”. Though it is clear that the feelings are much stronger on Jinx’s side.

Fanon[]
The name Shadowcannon comes from Kayn and Jinx’s titles; Kayn, the Shadow Reaper and Jinx, the Loose Cannon.
The ship and its popularity spring from the Odyssey universe. It had a bit of a surge in popularity upon the initial release of the Odyssey content, but it is currently a rarepair. Nearly all fan content of the pairing takes place in the Odyssey universe.
Occasionally, a level of disdain for the ship is expressed by fans of more popular Kayn or Jinx ships due to Shadowcannon currently being the ship with the most canon precedent for either character.
