Shiemi Moriyama is a character from the Blue Exorcist fandom.

Shiemi Moriyama is one of the three main characters alongside the twin brothers Rin Okumura and Yukio Okumura in the manga and anime Blue Exorcist.
She lived with her mother and grandmother at the Futsumaya Exorcist Supply Shop. After her grandmother died she blamed herself for it and a lesser demon managed to possess her legs and cripple her. Yukio and Rin helped to get rid of the demon, and Shiemi decided to attend the Exorcist Cram School.
Shiemi thought she was lagging behind everyone else and all she wanted to be useful to others. That led her to be taken advantage of by Izumo Kamiki. They later become friends through Shiemi's perseverance.
Other students noticed how Rin was interested in Shiemi. One time Shiemi tells Rin that she likes him and Rin replies "I like you too... as friends" because he thought Shiemi loved his brother, Yukio. Rin asked if she liked Yukio but Shiemi answered that she liked both of the twins as precious friends to which Rin replied: "So you're not in love with either of us?!" which was a shock to Rin and a surprise to Shiemi.
After a while Shiemi tells Rin again that she likes him, but that she doesn't know the difference between friendship and romance. Rin is somewhat confused but decides to ask her out. She zones out and Rin sheepishly runs away when Izumo and her friend Paku come to save the situation. Izumo invites herself to Shiemi's place and brings a ton of romantic manga with her so Shiemi can study the meaning of love from them. The next day Shiemi confronts Rin about his proposal of going out and she has to reject him because she still thinks she's too young, not mature enough and lagging behind everyone else. They promise to stay as friends.
A lot happens in the world and common people start seeing demons. Yukio leaves, seemingly to join the Illuminati, Rin's demon sword breaks and his demon heart is unleashed. Rin literally burns to crisp by his own flames but is regenerated. His demon side has taken over and he tries to burn everything. Shiemi tries to protect everyone with her powers by growing a whole forest between them and Rin. She asks the demon Rin where (the real) Rin is which causes Rin to snap back to his senses. Both of them faint.
Shiemi wakes up and sees Izumo beside her. Izumo says that Shiemi must really like Rin. This finally makes Shiemi realize she actually loves Rin. Shiemi begins to cry and tells Izumo that "it is too late". Suddenly the Grigori appear and take Shiemi with them.
It is revealed that Shiemi is descendant of the Shemihaza. She is taken to train for 1.5-2 years in a place where time goes faster, so it's mere hours in the real world. Same time Rin is exploring the past with his Kamikakushi key and it has a same kind of effect: he's away for a couple of days even though he witnesses events for a half of a year's worth.
A massive war is breaking out between the humankind and the demons and Rin and Shiemi are finally reunited on the battle field. They are happy to see each other but things feel awkward between them. Shiemi tries hard not to show her feelings for Rin because she thinks that it isn't a good time for suchs things – as the world is ending and she is the new Shemihaza. Izumo is disappointed in her.
Rin and Shiemi eventually get sorted into a same team and they start infiltrating the giant labyrinth structure that Satan has become. On the way she feels her mother's presence telling her she's not alone. It means Shiemi's mother, the previous Shemihaza, has passed away. Later, the labyrinth structure becomes unstable and the team almost falls down. Shiemi saves everyone by growing a giant tree. She's the last one on the tree and doesn't get away in time. Rin takes her hand but she lets go and falls.
As she is falling she grows another tree branch to save herself. She notices that Rin is falling down too and catches him with a leafy tree branch. They start bickering, blaming each other for being too reckless. They get back up to others and Shiemi slaps Rin's hand away. Rin doesn't understand why she acts like that and thinks Shiemi must hate him. Shiemi breaks down crying and tells him it's because she likes him.
Rin, still wary because of the earlier rejection he got from her, thinks she still means she likes him only as a friend. Shiemi is too exhausted from everything and faints. When she wakes up she gathers up her courage and goes to see Rin again. Izumo cheers her on. She meets Yukio who gives her a smile and tells her that his brother is up ahead.
Rin is sitting a little further away when Shiemi sees him. Shiemi shouts to him that she likes him. Rin answers that enough of that already, that he is trying hard not to get the wrong idea if they're just friends. Shiemi corrects herself by saying that she means "like" as romantically. Rin jumps down in front of her, face bewildered. He has to ask her again, "You like me?" to which she answers yes. Rin smiles a goofy smile and is beyond relieved. Shiemi starts belittling herself again and Rin stops her by saying he has liked her from the first time they met. They hug each other and Rin almost immediately suggests that they should go on a date to the amusement park as that was their promise from a long time ago.
