ShikaIno is the het ship between Shikamaru Nara and Ino Yamanaka from the Naruto fandom.
Canon[]
Shikamaru and Ino were in the same class at the Konohagakure Ninja Academy, and they graduated at the same time. When they were waiting to be assigned to teams, Ino was upset that she did not get assigned to the same team as her crush, Sasuke Uchiha, while her love rival Sakura Haruno did. Shikamaru poked fun at Ino for being obsessed over Sasuke, and Ino responded that she would hate to be assigned to the same team as him. Immediately afterward, Ino and Shikamaru were both assigned to Team 10 along with Chōji Akimichi, and Ino was annoyed while Shikamaru laughed at her. However, they later spent time together to get to know each other.
Shikamaru and Ino later signed up to the take the Chunin Exams along with Chōji. The first round was a written exam, and when she noticed that Sakura knew the answers, Ino used the Mind Transfer Jutsu to look at her answers. After memorizing them, she also used a telepathic jutsu to give the answers to Shikamaru. During the second round in the Forest of Death, Team 10 found Sakura battling the Sound Village team by herself and struggling. Shikamaru reminded Ino that they were once friends and asked her what she wanted to do. Ino decided to help Sakura and Shikamaru joined her until Sasuke woke up and was able to fight off their enemies.
A preliminary elimination round was held before the third round of the exams, and Shikamaru was paired up against Sound Ninja Kin Tsuchi. Ino cheered him on and he won his battle. Ino was matched against her rival Sakura. She tried to use her Mind Transfer Jutsu, and Shikamaru warned her that she was not supposed to use that without his Shadow Possession Jutsu, but Ino managed to use it after laying a hair trap. Ino's battle ended in a double knockout, meaning that neither of them advanced to the next round.
Ino attended the third round of the Chunin Exams to support Shikamaru. He initially did not want to battle against Temari due to his laziness, but Ino encouraged him, and he was eventually pushed into the arena. Ino enthusiastically cheered for Shikamaru during his battle, with Sakura noting that her cheering was crazy. Shikamaru ended up losing his battle by forfeiting after he seemed to be winning, and Ino was disappointed.
Shikamaru ended up being the only one to be promoted to Chunin, and Ino went out to lunch with him and the rest of the team to celebrate. When Ino's crush Sasuke left the village, Shikamaru joined the mission to bring him back, but he was unsuccessful. Years later, Ino and Chōji were given a nother chance to take the Chunin Exams, but Shikamaru could not take it again as he had already been promoted. Shikamaru designed the written test for the first round, and Ino passed. She was successfully promoted to Chunin, catching up to Shikamaru in rank.
Shikamaru was fighting against Hidan and Kakuzu along with their teacher Asuma, and Ino and Chōji arrived as backup. Asuma was mortally wounded, and Ino tried to heal him, but was unsuccessful. Before he died, Asuma told Ino that she was strong-willed and asked her to look after Shikamaru, and he also named Shikamaru his successor as their team's leader. Ino and Shikamaru then cried together over their teacher's death, before joining Kakashi in a mission to avenge his death.
During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Ino and Shikamaru were initially assigned to different divisions, but were forced to reunite on the battlefield. Their fallen sensei Asuma was resurrected by the Edo Tensei and they were forced to fight him. Chōji could not bring himself to fight him, so Ino used her Mind Transfer Jutsu to fight in his body while Shikamaru protected her. Later on in battle, the Ten-Tails destroyed the HQ where both of their fathers, Inoichi and Shikaku were. Both started tearing up over their father's deaths but refocused on the battle when Chōji tried to comfort them. Shikamaru and Ino later attended their father's funerals together in a mass funeral for all of the fallen in the war.

ShikaIno is a popular ship in the Naruto fandom. It is one of the more popular pairings involving both Ino and Shikamaru, but it is outclassed by the canon ShikaTema. It is often a companion ship to SasuSaku to give both Shikamaru and Ino love interests, with many shipping them together due to being teammates with amazing teamwork and balance. As Shikamaru is a genius and Ino had the highest grades in their class, many believe that they would be a highly intelligent couple. ShikaIno has 500+ works on AO3, 300+ on FFN, and almost 400 members in their fanclub on DeviantArt. ShikaIno rivals the ShikaTema, ShikaShiho, SasuIno, SaiIno, ChoIno, NaruIno, and SakuIno pairings.
