ShinIida is the slash ship between Tenya Iida and Hitoshi Shinso from the My Hero Academia fandom.
Canon[]
Tenya and Hitoshi are both students at UA High School. While Tenya is a member of the Hero Course, Hitoshi is in the General Studies Course. They first meet at the Sports Festival, where Hitoshi is one of the few students outside of the Hero Course to make it past the first round. During the second round, the Cavalry Battle, Tenya joins Team Todoroki. Hitoshi builds his own team, and they manage to scrape by to the final round of the Festival. When Hitoshi goes up against Izuku Midoriya in the One on One Tournament, Tenya cheers for Izuku.
In the Team-Up Missions chapter "Shinso's Errand", Tenya, Izuku, and Hanta Sero go to the mall in preperation for Hitoshi potentially moving into the 1-A dormitories. They end up helping Hitoshi stop a villain from stealing a piece of rare All Might memorabilia. Due to a misunderstanding, the three boys believe that Hitoshi really likes a children's doll; in reality, he was buying it for Eri. In the end, Tenya and the others decorate Hitoshi's bedroom with as much of the doll merchandise as they can find. Despite the mix-up, Hitoshi seems touched by the actions of the 1-A boys.
Tenya and Hitoshi are both known to be good friends with Izuku. Tenya is considered an official member of the "Dekusquad", whereas Hitoshi is considered a member of the Extended Squad.
Fanon[]
Despite not interacting in canon, ShinIida is a relatively popular ship in the fandom. As the class representative for Class 1-A, fans like to imagine Tenya taking Hitoshi under his wing if Hitoshi transfers into their class. The popular headcanon of Hitoshi not getting enough sleep is often used in these scenarios, where Tenya, as class rep, constantly checks to make sure that Hitoshi is healthy and well-rested. Other fans enjoy the stark difference between Tenya and Hitoshi's upbringings; Tenya was raised being told he would become a hero, just like his brother, while Hitoshi was raised being told that his Quirk meant he would become a villain.
ShinIida is oftentimes shipped in conjunction with TodoDeku and TsuChako, effectively pairing up each member of the Dekusquad into a ship. Its biggest rivals are ShinKami, IiDeku, and IidaOcha. It currently has over 350 works on AO3.
