ShinRan is the het ship between Shinichi Kudo and Ran Mouri from the Detective Conan fandom.

Shinichi and Ran are childhood friends ever since they were 4 years old in kindergarten, when he witnessed Ran was being bullied by other kids for her nametag being different then other students. While trying to make a new nametag, Shinichi witness Ran crying while making a new nametag while during nap time. Shinichi would hide his nametag and would lie to her Ran that he had lost his nametag wanting to have Ran make him a new one. He would also tell Ran of how he knew that she was making a Sakura nametag.
Although everyone was amazed in Shinichi's deduction Ran wasn't as she didn't like him calling her a crybaby. But she still made him a new nametag that she original was going to make for herself. At that point later on, the two would take an intrest in each other when Shinichi protected Ran was being bullied again for having a different nametag. It was at that moment that Ran realized that it was to save her from further bullying. Later at one point, Shinichi discovered a teacher's suspecious behavior, as so he would asks his father in help in protecting Ran. Which both of their parents knew and Kogoro wouldn't have to worry in the future as Shinchi would be there to protect Ran would he would take her to school in the middle of the night.
Due to the Kudo and Mouri family had lived close to each other, both Shinchi and Ran would often play together making both Shinichi and Ran childhood friends. And Shinchi's neighbor Hiroshi Agasa would watch over them when both of their parents were busy with work. Ten years prior to the main story line, after entering elementary school Shinchi started calling Ran by her last name Mouri and added the "san" at the end of his name as he was trying to make himself sound like an adult. But Ran didn't like to use a unfamiliar name to call Shinichi.

ShinRan is one of the most popular ships in Detective Conan fandom, with CoAi being one of the main rivals. Most of the shippers like their angst that Shinichi gets when turned into Conan, not getting to propose his love for Ran in multiple occasions. And how he has to protect his secret identity, especially from Ran. And it's also the oldest "childhood friends to lovers" relationship of the series, being hinted that they have feelings with each other since the beginning. With The Scarlet School Trip special making the couple official, they have become the main couple of the series.
However, there has been some dislike about the couple, with arguments saying how Shinichi and Ran's dynamic doesn't work romantically and how Shinichi constantly hurting her emotionally for the constant lying. Others are because it rivals the other ship, CoAi, which they think the dynamic between Conan and Haibara work better and have more substance, compared to ShinRan.
It has over 1000 works of ShinRan in AO3, which are behind of other works for other Detective Conan ships: HakuKai, AkAm, CoAi and KaiShin.
