ShinjiMitsu is the het ship between Shinjiro Aragaki and Mitsuru Kirijo from the Persona fandom.
Canon[]
Shinjiro had known Mitsuru since middle school, just like his childhood friend Akihiko. At first, Mitsuru does not want him to join SEES because of his low potential of awakening to his Persona until his persuasion and stubbornness to join SEES to be Akihiko’s side. Mitsuru is forced to let him join as well. Only the three actively fought Shadows until their first years of high school. She never addresses Shinjiro by his name, even though they are the same age. Shinjiro refers to Mitsuru by her surname. In the original English version, Mitsuru sometimes calls Shinjiro by his first or last name, and Shinjiro addresses her by her first name.
In 2007, Shinjiro left the group after his Persona lost control and killed Ken’s mother. Mitsuru blames herself for what happened to him.
In 2009, Mitsuru expressed relief for Shinjiro to rejoin SEES again, as shown in eventing on September 2nd. On October 4th, like everyone else, she mourned over Shinjiro’s death.

If Shinjiro’s Social Link is maxed before October 4th, when Fuuka suggests taking Shinjiro to the hospital, she agrees until she realizes it is still the Dark Hour. She sadly realizes by the Dark Hour ends, the doctors won’t be able to save Shinjiro on time.

Mitsuru becomes involved in Shinjiro’s Social Link rank 6, where Shinjiro decides to cook a meal for everyone with Fuuka’s help.

In Shinjiro’s Link Episode, Mitsuru and Akihiko try to persuade Shinjiro to return to school again but fail. Throughout his Link episodes, Mitsuru and Akihiko keep bugging Shinjiro to return to school because to fulfilled a promise to graduate high school together. At the end of Shinjiro’s Link episode, Mitsuru was surprised that Shinjiro was considering returning to school since his reinstatement form was still incomplete.
Film[]
On the September full moon operation, she congrats Akihiko and Shinjiro for weakening Arcana Hemit. Like everyone else, she is shocked that Shinjiro has lost control of his persona.
A few days later after Shinjiro’s death, she attended Shinjiro’s funeral at Gekkoukan High.
The Weird Masquerade[]
In Act 2, Mitsuru is surprised to see Shinjiro again after he saves Ken from Arcana Hierophant.

In the final scene, Mitsuru briefly has a short reunion with Shinjiro before she and the rest search for Kotone and Aigis on the rooftop.
Fanon[]
ShinjiMitsu is one of the rare fanshipping Persona 3 fanbases. There needs to be more interaction in the original, Portable version, manga, films, or stageplay. They don't address each other by their first names and only call each other by their last names in Japanese and Reload English versions. They don't seem to attract each other, but this doesn't stop fans from shipping them in both fan fiction and fan art. Most of the fanart comics portray Mitsuru calling Shinjiro by his name when they were in middle school; Fan theorizes she stopped calling Shinjiro by his first name because she doesn't deserve to call him that after the incident of October 4th two years ago.
