Sidlink is the slash ship between Link and Sidon from The Legend of Zelda fandom.
Canon[]
Breath of the Wild[]
A hundred years before the events of the game begin, Sidon states that while he still remembers his older sister, he does not recall ever meeting with Link due to limited interactions with him.
When Link travels to Zora's Domain, Sidon meets him from the top of the tower and introduces himself as the crown prince of the Zora and when he sees that he is a Hylian, he invites him to Zora's Domain due to a terrible situation happening there. Due to the endless rains caused by the corrupted Divine Beast Vah Ruta, Link is unable to climb any of the steep slopes since he will slip constantly, so he is forced to take the long path while fighting or avoiding electric enemies along the way. During Link's travels, Sidon frequently calls out to Link to cheer and encourage him during his long travels to Zora's Domain. Alternatively, if Link enters Zora's Domain in another way without encountering Sidon, the Zora prince will initially tell him that his father is busy, and he must leave before realizing that he is a Hylian and apologizes for his rudeness. Once Link arrives in any of the routes, he meets with his father to hear more of the situation regarding Vah Ruta, who is causing so much turmoil through its heavy rains that threaten to break the Rutela Dam at East Reservoir Lake and flood all of Hyrule. Muzu, however, is against Link helping out due to his prejudice against his race and is quick to protest and talk down to him through blaming him for Mipha's death, which often has Sidon silencing him. When Link is given the Zora Armor, Muzu had enough and leaves the court in a huff. Sidon then speaks with Muzu despite him trying to brush him off and Link shows up wearing the Zora Armor, which to their surprise, fits him perfectly and Sidon explains that Mipha loved Link so much, the armor was specifically made for him. After Muzu gives it some thought, he recommends taking some Shock Arrows from a Red Maned Lynel at Ploymus Rock, but is still pessimistic about the outcome due to his lack of faith. Upon gaining enough Shock Arrows, Link and Sidon team up at East Reservoir Lake where Vah Ruta rests and engage in battle with it with Sidon swimming around with Link on his back as the latter shoots its projectiles to give Sidon an opening to approach it so Link, with the Zora Armor on, can climb them and use Shock Arrows to shut down the water pumps from the orbs. When Link climbs aboard, Sidon wishes him luck. After Vah Ruta is freed and Mipha takes aim at Hyrule Castle, Sidon quickly congratulates Link with the rest of the Zora, Muzu included, for his efforts.
Age of Calamity[]
Sidon arrives in the past to rescue Mipha from Waterblight Ganon, if Link is the one who enters and destroys Waterblight Ganon, Sidon vocally states that he is very happy to fight alongside him once again, even though Link has never seen or met him in his adult form. His general interaction with Link is limited in this game, but he does exchange dialogue with Link during gameplay when they are fighting together in various scenarios and challenges where they are both available.
Tears of the Kingdom[]
When the Upheaval began, Zora's Domain has fallen under a sludge pollution crisis, which he heads to Mipha Court to keep it from spreading as long as he possibly can while his fiancée, Yona deals with the Zoras that have fallen ill. A statue of Link riding Sidon can be seen in the plaza while Mipha's statue was relocated to Mipha Court where it was once Ploymus Rock. After Link arrives, Sidon is extremely happy to see Link again, but as much as he wanted to join him, he would risk letting the sludge spread and make the situation much worse than it is and insists that he must speak with his father. Once Link does, he will be worried for him and asked him to investigate the Great Fish Island in the sky for any clues. After getting the Zora Armor from Yona, who proceeds to head to Sidon's location, Sidon will tell her that it isn't safe for her to be here though Yona insists that she and her friends help. After Link and Sidon destroy the Sludge Like, Sidon and Yona once again get into scuffle with Sidon insisting that she must head back for her own safety only for Yona to send it straight to him that he is still stuck in the past where he is constantly worried about losing someone close to him as he lost his older sister over a century ago and tells him that he has a future ahead of him to worry about. After some thought, Sidon relents and he and Link join forces at East Reservoir Lake while Yona and her friends hold back the sludge. After traveling below, the lake, they managed to unlock the way to the Water Temple in the sky where the effects of gravity are lower. Once there, the voice instructs him to activate all five faucets so it can dump water on the source of the sludge. Upon doing so, they encounter Mucktorok, who was the source of Zora's Domain's problems and they managed to defeat it. After accepting his Secret Stone from the Zora Sage, Sidon passes down his avatar to him and after Zora's Domain's water is fully purified and free of sludge, Sidon was promoted to kingship by his father with Yona as his queen.
Sidon, alongside the awakened Sages, save Link from Ganondorf's attack at Hyrule Castle while the Demon King showed them the full extent of his power through a vision, leaving the Sages concerned on what they are up against and head back down where Purah was. They discuss the recent events that have been occurring and with the knowledge of the ancient legend, only one Sage remains leading Link to find the fifth one. Once Link encounters Mineru, it was time to face the Demon King. Sidon and the Sages save Link again in the Gloom's Origin from the monsters and they fought together until they each fight their temple's bosses. Sidon and the Sages join with Link during the battle with Ganondorf, where the latter would swallow the Secret Stone, he stole from Queen Sonia to undergo draconification into the Demon Dragon and takes Link away, to the dismay of the Sages, only to be defeated by the hero and the Light Dragon. Rauru and Sonia help Link revert the transformation of the Light Dragon, who is Princess Zelda before disappearing. Later, Link, Sidon, and the Sages are brought by Mineru to the Great Sky Island before she vanishes after the Sages vow to protect Hyrule for all time.
Fanon[]
Sidlink has shown to be very popular with the Zelda community, so much that Archive of Our Own currently has over 2,100 slash fanfics that pair them together. It takes the second-place spot just behind Zelink, showing that while the Zelink ship is an extremely popular het ship, Sidlink is the most popular slash ship in the Zelda community overall. There are also fans who are very devoted to making fan arts that ship him and Link together and they love the chemistry that the two of them have in the games. Tears of the Kingdom has a statue in the plaza of both Link riding on Sidon's back as they did when they fought Vah Ruta as the former tries to get in to resolve the crisis from within. However, along with this, there was also a division on the very existence of a particular person that Sidon was engaged, not to Link, but to Yona, which had sparked outrage among many within the Sidlink fanbase due to the very fact that Sidon was stolen away from them like that, and it killed the possibility of their ship ever being canon. Other Sidlink shippers who don't mind Yona being Sidon's fiancée and have taken the alternative to make poly ships of Link, Sidon, and Yona together and sometimes of Link, Zelda, Sidon, and Yona.
