Silvaze is the het ship between Silver and Blaze from the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom.
Canon[]
Both Silver and Blaze are best friends. Silver is emotionally dependent upon Blaze; he becomes very insecure when alone, and it is usually Blaze who helps Silver get back on his feet. Before she vanishes from their world at the end of Silver's story in Sonic the Hedgehog, Blaze reveals that she always liked Silver's naivete, leaving Silver deeply saddened after he is forced to seal her in another dimension.
However, after the defeat of Solaris, the timeline was altered and it appears that Silver's history with Blaze was erased, leaving them with no personal relation or friendly knowledge of each other. The Nintendo DS version of Sonic Colors shows Silver and Blaze meeting each other after the timeline changed, in this meeting there is a short interaction where both show similar sentiments of familiarity. Silver even stating that "It almost felt like we've paired up before." In the console version of Sonic Generations, the two can be seen talking to each other at Sonic's birthday party at the end of the game.
Silver and Blaze are sometimes shown together in spin-off games. In the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Silver and Blaze join Sonic's team together rather than individually. They also have unique victory poses in Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016. The two are members of Team Vector in Team Sonic Racing.

In the Sonic the Hedgehog Annual 2019, the story “Victory Garden” is dedicated to the two of them, where they “slow down for a minute to go gardening...”
In the Emeraldville Ruins Blaze searches for Silver after Amy tells her where she could find him. Blaze calls out to Silver saying that Amy said that she would be able to find him here, to which Silver replies with an “oh geez” and “I’m definitely not here better go back inside and-” in an unconvincing manner before being cut off by the sound of crashing objects. Once Blaze hears the sound of a crash she sets off running.
She finds Silver in a crater levitating gardening tools. Silver embarrassingly tries to control all the gardening tools with his telekinesis but instead gets hit by a hose, falls and drops the tools. Blaze helps Silver get up, asking if he is growing vegetables, to which he states he’s been trying but it’s been a “no-grow” Blaze briefly comments about how she didn’t take Silver for a lover of nature and with a lit up expression Silver speaks of how “plants are the best” and how everything is so green and thriving compared to his time.
Amy had told Silver he could grow his own vegetables if he wanted and got excited to do so, only to grow disappointed as he verbally expresses his frustration to Blaze on wondering why the plants aren’t growing. Stating that he “even watered them twice!” and “it’s no use!” (In refrence to both Sonic the Hedgehog and fandom memes.) but the weeds kept getting in. As Silver continues to express his frustration, Blaze examines the weeds. She then asks Silver if she can try something to which Silver allows.
Blaze then creates a ring of fire slowly engulfing the crater in heat which alarms Silver as he protests. Blaze looks to Silver who is visibly worried and asks him to trust her and he does but his worry doesn’t lessen with the as he groans over how he had made such good progress. The ring of fire now gone, Blaze hands Silver a hoe, telling him to turn the ashes into soil. She explains that the garden was planted on a battlefield where the chemicals from the bombs made the earth hard and acidic, which plants would not be able to grow in. When ashes are used to fertilize a garden, they break down the many acids in the soil and nourish the plants.
Silver is left impressed and believes that Blaze knows a lot about gardening. Blaze insists that she knows only the basics. She explains that a gardener's greatest skill is not control, planning, or power, but listening as they know exactly what to do and will tell you what they need to do it. All the gardener must do is listen and provide. Soon, as the sun rises after an unknown amount of time, vegetables and sunflowers grow in Silver's garden, leaving the hedgehog overjoyed. Blaze looks on with a smile.

Fanon[]
Despite losing their friendship and familiarity originally with the end of Sonic 06, Silvaze is one of the most popular ships in the Sonic fandom. Even though their team name in Mario and Sonic at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games is “Team SILVER” (whenever players team Blaze up with Silver), some prefer to call them “Team Silvaze”.
On AO3, Silvaze is the most written ship for Blaze and Silver. However, it should be noted that AO3 cannot be used to determine total popularity, as the fandom has a more notable presence on other websites such as DeviantArt and other art related sites suchs as X (formerly known as Twitter).

Trivia[]
- When asked if he likes any other ship in the Sonic franchise besides Shadaria, Shiro Maekawa replied that he also likes the Silvaze couple.[1]
- Shiro Maekawa shared a fanart of Silver and Blaze on his Twitter account with the hashtag Silvaze for the week that fans dedicated to this couple in 2019.
- In Archie's Sonic Universe Issue 58's Off Panel, Marine appears to have written a Silvaze fanfic. The first panel of the Off Panel is a reference to a scene from the film Titanic, where Jack is carrying Rose onto the bow of the Titanic. In the Off-Panel, Blaze appears to have disliked the story and burned the manuscript, to which Marine laments that she is "sinking my ship".
- This may be a possible allusion to the writers' awareness of the Silvaze-shipping fanbase, and also a pun on the fans' "shipping" of Silver and Blaze, due to Blaze burning the manuscript of a story on a ship, and the belief by many fans that Silver and Blaze had romantic feelings for each other based on their interactions in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
- In Sonic and the Black Knight, Blaze and Slivers' alternate reality doppelgängers are two notable Knights of the Round Table from the Arthur Legends, Sir Percival and Sir Galahad. Percival is part of the game's main storyline, while Galahad can only be seen or played during free play.
- On the official Sonic Team website, Sonic Channel, there are two separate wallpapers of Silver and Blaze in commemoration of the Japanese festival Tanabata. Which was a reference to their separation in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). Due to the context of the festival, many think that it may have something romantic to do with it.
- Below the story about Blaze from the Sonic Comic manga on Sonic Channel, there is a brief summary of various games. The description explains that the way Blaze looked out for Silver made him see the charm of older women.
- Sega Hardlight posted a tweet where several Sonic characters wrote Valentine's Day letters. Silver's, which is probably for Blaze, read: “Greetings from the future! I hope nothing has fried you up this Valentine's Day, and that you've been able to relax! Maybe later I could help you hand out gifts and chocolate to your people? I bet that'd brighten their day! :)"
