When Lois fell unconscious from hitting the water backwards, she is saved by the mysterious AC (Arthur Curry's nickname in the series). Who comes to her rescue before Clark Kent could reach Lois, thanks to his abilities and being in his underwater element. Once they were on dry land AC breaths life back into her lungs. Lois refusing to admit that she was drowning to the charming AC, he offers to give her a swimming lesson to prove him wrong.

- As Aquaman gets the passing by seagulls to free him, he also has them make a start to cut the ropes binding Lois's wrists. Once he was freed, he frees Lois and the two then make their escape.
- When Lois and Aquaman's bike fell into the ocean during their escape, he had one of his great white sharks, that were passing by, save her.

The ship between Lois and Arthur is quite rare, with the two having canon love interests (Clois and AquaMera). It managed to gain a small following in the Smallville series, with it having Arthur meet Lois long before he met Mera.

Because of Chloe's crush on Clark Kent and knowing that he likes Lana, while only seeing her as a friend, it got Chloe to view Lana as a rival. Lana not having any feelings for Clark herself kept her from knowing the reason for Chloe's coldness towards her. Assuming that it was a simple case of a nerdy girl resenting a girl who is more popular than her.

When Chloe first moved to Smallville Clark was one of the first friends she has made in a long time. After her mother when she was much younger, Chloe was worried that any friends she makes would leave her too and retreated into books. Clark didn't have much time to make friends either, from how busy the farm keeps him. Giving the two something to connect with and Clark helps Chloe to settle into her new home, by giving her the kind of books she lives from local library. This gets Chloe to kiss him, to get it out of the way, and decide that they should stay friends.
As the years past, however, Chloe developed a crush on Clark, who has his eyes on another girl he has loved from afar. Long before Chloe came into his life. Chloe knew this and was okay with playing the role of best friend, hoping that Clark would eventually realise that she is the girl of his dreams. When meteor empowered people started to show up and cause trouble, Chloe shows Clark her wall of weird and her research on "meteor freaks" has helped Clark in the long run. Clark wasn't into journalism at that time, but after helping Chloe at the Touch for knowledge gathering and to simply help out a friend, he begins to see the benefits of it. It was a few seasons later when Clark decides that he would like to become a journalist too.
Despite the times Chloe has unknowingly helped him locate and uncovering the weaknesses of the meteor freaks he has faced, Clark couldn't afford to tell her his secret. Fearing that she would expose him for the sake of a story, from how detriment and dedicated she was to their school's paper. He wasn't fund of the way Chloe was asking his parents questions about him behind his back, even though it was for a school assignment she came close to finding information that the Kent family didn't wanted leaked. There have been many close calls on Chloe discovering his secret, but Clark manages to cover his tracks and create almost believable excuses to throw her off the sent.

With Smallville having Chloe as Clark's first journalist partner, long before Lois made her first appearance in the series, it got some people to view or simply joke about Chloe Sullivan being his previous Lois Lane. The reveal that Chloe and Lois are cousins made the thought itself feel ironic.

Chloe Sullivan is Lois Land's cousin in the series, who was the journalist of the two long before Lois decided that she wanted to become one herself. Because Lois originally didn't have an in journalism, Chloe once tried to use her cousin's name as a pen name in order to get her stories publish, from when she was fired from the Daily Planet and still had a friend there; before he was killed.
After the Sullivans were believed to have killed in the bombing of their safe house, Lois received a video message Chloe had sent out. Having a feeling that Lionel Luthor would try to have her killed, before she could testify against him, and wanted people to know. After seeing this message, Lois decides to find out what happened by traveling to Smallville. Where she meets Chloe's friend, Clark Kent who help Lois find her cousin, once he told her that Chloe is alive. Wanting to be sure that this claim is true or not, Lois decides to dig up Chloe's grave and finds the coffin empty.

Clana[]

Clark has had a crush on Lana Lang since they were kids, with their houses being across from one another. Each time Clark has tried to talk to her, he either messes up or remembers that she has a boyfriend. One of the other reasons Clark has trouble being near Lana is because she wears a piece of kryptonite around her neck. The day Clark's ship landed in Smallville was also the day Lana's parents died, and a small shard of the meteor that killed them was made into a necklace. Clark wasn't aware of his Kryptonian origins or his weakness to kryptonite at that time, and assumed that he was either clumsy or nervous around her.

Despite the fact that Lana has been seen or simply mentioned in other DC medias, like the Arrowverse, DCAU and the New Earth comics, Clana is mostly supported in the Smallville fandom. With the series focusing on Superman's teenage years, before Clark Kent became one of DC's beloved superheroes, and Lana Lang was his first love before meeting Lois Lane. Although it had been known from the start that Clark would eventually end up with Lois, fans couldn't help but feel drawn to Clark x Lana from seeing their story unfold.

Lois and Oliver first meet in "Wither" when Oliver came to the Kent farm to see Martha Kent. Because of the letter Oliver had in hand when Lois answered the door, she mistakes him for the messenger from Queen Industries and sends him on his way, after dipping him. Oliver didn't try to correct her and left without complaint. Seconds later when Martha asked about the person who was ment to come with the letter, Lois realises that she had just met and sent away the Oliver Queen. Wanting to fix her mistake, Lois goes to see him with fruit basket in hand. Even though she came to him without an appointment, he allows her to stay. Although he appeared to not be listening to Lois as she asks him to support Martha, she expects Oliver's offer to be his date at Lex's party, where they can talk some more. Oliver tells Lois that he was feeling attracted to her, but she didn't let herself fall for his charms. Assuming that he was just another rich play boy with a charming act, until she got to know him a bit better. Lois agrees to kiss Oliver if he is able to hit the far away can with one of his arrows. Unknown to Lois, Oliver had hit his target but made her think that he missed. So their agreed kiss wouldn't feel forced and lets her walk away. Oliver couldn't afford to risk exposing the true level of his archery skills, at that moment.
Lois and Oliver go out again in "Arrow." He helps Lois to gain more supporters for Martha's senator seat, before he disappears when Lionel Luthor was about to make his speak.

Because fans of the DC comics knew that Lois and Oliver have canon love interests (Clois and DinahOllie), it has ships like Lollie be limited to the Smallville fandom. With the series having the two be in an relationship with one another, before they broke up and remained friends. Knowing from the start that Lois would end up with Clark and how one of the previous seasons had her be in a brief relationship with Arthur Curry, it got fans to wonder if Lois feels attracted to heroes. Since she has also been shipped with Bruce Wayne in the comics and the DC Animated Universe.
