Soko is the het ship between Zuko and Song from the Avatar: The Last Airbender fandom.

Canon

Zuko and Song first met in an Earth Kingdom village while Iroh was being healed after drinking tea that was made out of a poisonous flower. They had become enemies of the Fire Nation and had to travel through the Earth Kingdom in disguise. Song noticed that Zuko and Iroh had been traveling for a while without proper nourishment. She invited them to join her and her mother for dinner since they always cook more than enough roast duck anyway. Zuko initially declined the offer but his Uncle Iroh accepted on their behalf after learning that they would be having roast duck.

While the group was eating dinner, they ended up talking about the war and how it was affecting the entire world. Song's mother noted the fact that Zuko and Iroh were refugees and stated that they had been refugees too. Song then told Zuko about how her father was killed by the Fire Nation and Zuko responded by saying that he had not seen his father for many years as well. Song then asked Zuko if his father was fighting in the war to which he answered that he was.

Zuko was still depressed over being an outcast from the Fire Nation and went to sit out on the porch by himself. Song followed him and attempted to comfort him. She noticed Zuko's scar and commented that he was hurt by the Fire Nation. She tried to touch it but Zuko stopped her. She then showed the scars on her leg and sympathized with him. Zuko was surprised to see that Song had been burned and scarred by the Fire Nation as well.

When Zuko and Iroh were getting ready to leave, Iroh reminded Zuko to thank Song and his mother so he did so coldly. Song assured Zuko that there was still hope because the avatar had returned, to which Zuko replied that he was already aware of that fact. While Zuko and Iroh were leaving, Zuko decided to steal her ostrich horse. Iroh scolded Zuko for doing such a thing after how much hospitality they had showed but Zuko replied by saying that she was going to help him one more time. Song saw him in the act and just frowned before closing the door.

Fanon

Soko has a small amount of popularity in the Avatar fandom. It is considered to be one of the four main Zuko ships despite the fact that it is probably one of the more obscure ships. Zuko did not have any canon love interests when Song was introduced so many fans began to ship them together. Some also pointed out that they had their moments in the episode "The Cave of Two Lovers" which was an episode focused on romance. However, a lot of fans had an issue with the fact that Zuko stole her ostrich horse. Soko commonly rivals the Maiko, Zutara and Jinko ships.
