Sonaddie is the familyship between Sonic the Hedgehog and Maddie Wachowski from the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom.

Sonic the Hedgehog[]
Ever since Sonic came to Green Hills, he watches the Wachowski family from afar. He would often watch her do yoga and attempt to do the moves himself. Because of Maddie's ability to bend her body that way, Sonic nicknamed her 'Pretzel Lady'. While he was spying on the Wachowski family, Sonic developed an admiration for Maddie because of her kindness and caring to animals. Even before he moved into live with the Wachowskis, Sonic said they were "like a family even though [they] hadn't met yet." However, as he watches Maddie, Tom and Ozzie having a family movie night, Sonic fears that he will forever be alone.
Towards the climax of the film, Tom takes an injured Sonic to his sister-in-law, Rachel's house, where he tries to get in. However, Rachel (having seen that Tom was wanted for terrorism) tried to deny him access. Maddie stopped her sister and told her to let Tom in. Just as the three family members argued, Ozzy barked at the blanket that Tom was carrying and tugged it off, revealing Sonic. Maddie and Rachel stopped arguing but the latter fainted at the sight of Sonic while Maddie was stunned. Unsure of the blue creature, Maddie pulled JoJo close to her. Despite the shock, Maddie agrees to help Sonic and grabs her medical supply bag. Despite Tom showing relief, Maddie admits that she is a vet and she doesn't understand what Sonic is. She is further taken aback when Tom tells Maddie that Sonic is a talking hedgehog. Despite this, she is surprised at how fast Sonic's pulse is and how banged up his feet. Realizing he is merely unconscious, Tom suggests that she uses smelling salts to revive Sonic. Maddie is flabbergasted when she watches Sonic speed around the room too fast and excitedly greet her. Stunned, Maddie guided Tom out of the kitchen so she could talk to him alone before telling Sonic to get some rest.
Despite keeping her cool throughout the ordeal, Maddie starts scolding her husband. Tom explains that Sonic is the "Blue Devil" Crazy Carl was ranting on about. Maddie wasn't happy when she learned that Tom shot Sonic with one of her bear tranquilizers. After Tom explains the situation to her, Maddie realizes that they have to help Sonic because Tom always wanted to risk his life for someone.
The trio make their way to the TransAmerica building, with Maddie wondering why they let Sonic drive. The couple is forced to sneak Sonic up on the roof in one of Tom's duffle bags. They successfully make it to the top of the building, where Sonic retrieved his rings. Before he leaves, Sonic and Tom share a heartfelt goodbye; Maddie thinks that her husband and the hedgehog are cute together. However, Sonic interjects that they aren't cute but dangerous people who are on the lam from the law. She reluctantly agrees with him to keep him entertained. Just as Sonic is getting ready to leave the planet, Dr. Robotnik and his Badniks confront the Wachowskis. Because Maddie and Tom were defenseless and could get hurt during his fight with Robotnik, Sonic threw the couple off the balcony and into a portal leading to Green Hills.
Suddenly, Robotnik and Sonic fight brings them back to Green Hills, where Maddie and Tom fear that Sonic is gravely injured and seemingly dies from his wounds. However, after Tom calls Sonic his friend, the teenager regenerates his powers. Maddie is seen proudly smiling Tom and Sonic banish Dr Eggman into the mushroom planet and watch their bantering. A few weeks after the incident, Commander Walters appears to give the Wachowskis a $50 gift card to Olive Garden; he asks about their contact with a certain little blue alien. However, the couple denies such a person from living there and closes the door on the Commander's face. With the coast clear, Sonic emerges and asks the Wachowskis if they're up for a movie. However, Maddie tells Sonic he has to go to bed early because it's a school night. As Sonic is about to leave, Tom and Maddie stop him and take him to the attic, where Maddie and Tom move Sonic's things into their attic and call it his new cave. The Wachowskis adopt Sonic and Maddie welcomes him home.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2[]
By the sequel, Maddie and Sonic have forged a deep mother-son bond, showing how much the two have come to care about each other. She wakes him up to meet up with Tom and go fishing and later plays along with Sonic's fantasy of checking her out at an "airport." During their vacation in Hawaii, Tom worries that Sonic doesn't have friends or a troop like Randall does with his comrades. However Maddie is assured that Sonic is a smart kid and he will find his way. Later, Sonic calls Tom during Rachel's wedding, where he and Tails are sliding down a mountain avalanche in Russia. After opening the portal from Russia to Hawaii, Maddie and Tom check on Sonic. Furious, Tom tells Sonic he is in so much trouble until Maddie tells him to calm down and Sonic to start talking. Later, Randall's agents capture Sonic and Tails. It turns out that Rachel's wedding was actually a ploy to lure Sonic to Hawaii. After Tom failed to face his son, he was arrested. Maddie and Rachel then teamed up to break their family out of the G.U.N. prison and so Rachel could get revenge on Randall for using her.
After Maddie saves her family, Sonic goes to confront the empowered Robotnik on his own. Realizing the danger Sonic is in, Tom and Maddie form an alliance with G.U.N and arrive in Green Hills. After seeing that Dr. Robotnik is controlling a gigantic robot, Maddie and Tom realize "their kid" is in danger and they decide to drive out on a truck. Reaching out towards the injured Sonic, Maddie grabs onto her son and assures him that he is safe. Robotnik uses his robot to destroy the truck but Maddie , Sonic and Tom survive the crash. Unfortunately, the Master Emerald is destroyed and Robotnik is about to kill the Wachowskis. Sonic tells Maddie and Tom to leave him alone because he is the one Robotnik wants. Maddie grabs Sonic's hand and tells him that they're not going anywhere because they're family and Tom says that family sticks together no matter what. After declaring their familial love for each other, Robotnik seemingly crushes the family with his robot's foot. However, Sonic had absorbed the Master Emerald's powers and used them to save both of his parents. She and Tom would also cheer Sonic on as he defeated Robotnik once and for all. As Maddie and Tom tried approaching Super Sonic, Knuckles warned them that Sonic had gone mad with power. However, Sonic disproved that by remaining in control, summoning celebratory chili dogs and relinquishing the Chaos Emeralds. Maddie later runs towards Sonic and they share a loving embrace
Later, Maddie, Sonic and the rest of the family play together at the baseball game, where Maddie likes all of Sonic's friends, especially Knuckles.

Sonaddie is a relatively small family ship in the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom. While popular due to its canon status, it's not as popular as Tom and Sonic's relationship due to the latter getting more focus in both movies. On Archive of Our Own, it is the second-most written ship for Maddie Wachowski. On AO3, underneath the "Sonic the Hedgehog (Live Action Movies)" tag, Sonic and Maddie is the sixth most written ship. In post-sequel fanfictions, Maddie and Tom also adopted Knuckles and Tails because of the baseball scene at the end.
On Wikipedia, Maddie is regarded as Sonic's mother figure on the description.
