Soneam is the friendship between Sonic and Cream from the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom.

Cream’s debut is in Sonic Advance 2, after Sonic defeats Dr. Eggman in the first level. She and her pet Chao Cheese fall from the sky, and she grabs on to one of the hedgehog’s quills to safety as he runs. Cream tries to recognize him as the “famous Mr. Sonic”, in which he receives thanks from her. The rabbit then joins up with Sonic and, later, other characters to rescue her mother.
They were both from rivaling teams in Sonic Heroes and Sonic Riders. Their teams confronted each other in a battle after passing through the power plant. Eventually, the six joined together with the two other teams to defeat Neo Metal Sonic.
Both also have appearances in Shadow the Hedgehog, but they don’t directly interact as the rabbit makes a cameo at Cryptic Castle.
In Sonic Generations, Cream was present at Sonic’s birthday party together with the other major characters. Sonic or his classic self can free her and Cheese after completing Speed Highway. Cream and the very same characters cheered on the Sonics at the climax of the game.

Once Sonic becomes aware that Cream and Cheese were captured and are being led in a lab, he goes to save his young friends. Cream is happy to see Sonic and all three escape the facility, dodging its heavily-armed defenses along the way. With some help from Tails, the hedgehog is able to bring both of them to the safety of the Thorndyke mansion.
In “Defective Detectives”, Sonic gives the news to Cream of her mother’s arrival into the Thorndyke mansion.
Cream was one of the spectators cheering on Sonic and his friends when a fighting competition has its winner awarded with a Chaos Emerald. In “A Wild Win”, Sonic saved Cream from a rogue Emerl. Later, Cream flew to catch the hedgehog as he was about to fall into the sea. With the help of the young rabbit, Sonic was able to grab Knuckles’ hand (saving him also from the water) after the later was pushed back by the robot. The hedgehog later witnessed Cream taking down Emerl to the sea.
Sonic, Cream, and the rest of their friends joined Cosmo in defeating the Metarex. Along the way, the hedgehog defended against the Chaotix from “rescuing” the young rabbit back to her mother. Cream, along with the other major characters, was present when Cosmo merged with the Planet Egg and Tails fired the Power Cannon with Sonic and Shadow as projectiles. Then they returned to their home planet, unaware of Eggman giving Chris a one-way rocket to his home without saying goodbye.

Most fans tend to ship Soneam as a platonic pairing due to both characters having a sibling-like view of each other: Cream looking up to Sonic as an older brother, while Sonic sees her as a little sister. Another reason fans ship them platonically is due to the large age gap between the characters.
There are fans who ship Soneam as a romantic pairing. Though not a huge fanbase for this, there are still a noticeable amount of supporters; however, this results in some controversy towards the ship.
Fans who ship Soneam romantically say they'd make a a sweet, tender, and adorable couple. Some opt for an alternate universe where Cream is older in age (Soneamlover), or even shipping the rabbit with Classic Sonic (FcoMk513). Other notable Soneam shippers include JossRunner14 and moiseslobo. As of March 2022, twelve fan-made fiction have been written on Archive of Our Own for this pairing.
