Soniaki is the femslash between Sonia Nevermind and Chiaki Nanami from the Danganronpa fandom.
Canon[]
Chiaki Nanami and Sonia Nevermind appear to be friends, in the game and the anime. In Chiaki’s Trial, Sonia shows signs of disbelief. At the end of the trial, Sonia downright refuses to acknowledge Chiaki as a killer. Sonia even attempts to persuade Hajime into thinking Chiaki is not the traitor and killer. When Sonia responds in distress hearing that Chiaki was in fact the traitor, Chiaki responds in a sad tone, yet affirmative.
Whilst Chiaki and Sonia were enrolled in Hope’s Peak, they interacted many times. Sonia was seen multiple times playing video games with Chiaki. Sonia was also there in the nurse’s office when Chiaki fainted. Some of the official art in the anime depict Sonia and Chiaki hugging each other. Some of the pictures even depict the two playing pranks on fellow classmates (Ex: Kazuichi).
The two show the trope ‘Not So Different’ very well. With their interest in video games. Or you could also say their soft personalities. When Sonia jumps at Chiaki for a hug; Chiaki reacts with a slightly surprised face and slight blush along with it. It should also be said, when Chiaki’s execution in the anime is displayed on screen for everyone to see, Sonia responds with visible distress, a sign of their friendship.

Soniaki is a fairly popular ship amongst the fandom, due to the number of canon interactions the two had. Fanfictions written for this ship usually make Chiaki and Sonia the soft, soothing, and calm lesbian couple, which is no different from their canon dynamic. A lot of people make fanfictions of Chiaki and Sonia older and as parents due to their peaceful vibe as friends. With their sweet and laidback personalities, a lot of people see them as loving mothers of children. To be noted, there are 312+ fanfictions on AO3 for Soniaki, and 192+ stories on Wattpad.
