Sonic the Hedgehog is the main character from the eponymous fandom.
Character[]
Sonic the Hedgehog is the main protagonist of his eponymous series. He is an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog mostly known for his speed, as he is capable of running faster than the speed of sound and has the reflexes to match his speed. As his species implies, Sonic can also roll up into a concussive ball, primarily to attack enemies with moves such as the Spin Dash and Homing Attack. Personality-wise, Sonic is cocky yet cool but has a short temper and is often impatient with slower things. Sonic is as free as the wind; he's a drifter who lives as he wants and is always looking for a new adventure. Despite his attitude, he only truly hates oppression. He cares for his friends and is always ready to defend the world from evildoers such as Dr. Eggman.
Originally created as a new mascot for Sega, one that could compete with Nintendo's own Mario, Sonic has gone on to star in hundreds of video games, multiple cartoons and anime, multiple comics and manga, and even a live action film series. Sonic's in-universe origins tends to differ between the many continuities established by the differing takes on his world.
