Sonurge is the het ship between Sonic and Surge from the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom.

In Imposter Syndrome, it's revealed that Dr. Starline hypnotized Surge to hate Sonic.
In issue #50 of the main IDW comics, Sonic and Surge meet for the first time at an Eggman base. No introduction is given before Surge immediately attacks Sonic and throws him against a metal gate. She blames him for her existence, saying that his moral code and forgiving nature is ineffective at preventing evil. After that, Surge tries to defeat Sonic once and for all, although the hedgehog clearly does not hold the same level of resentment or animosity towards her. He evades all her attacks easily. Surge eventually trips and finds herself holding onto some metal with one hand above a deep tunnel. Sonic offers a temporary truce so that he can pull her out and towards safety but she refuses and falls towards what he believes to be her death.
In issue #51, however, it's revealed that she survived and is now even more intent on grinding "that blue scumbag into the dirt." This causes some drama when, after Sonic tells Kit that his partner is dead and the fennec sees Surge alive and well, he believes that Sonic has intentionally lied to him for a nefarious reason.
In issue #53 Surge finds herself in the position of being able to defeat Doctor Eggman but she lets him off with a warning, stating that Sonic is at the top of her list. Later, Sonic and Tails find her having the upper hand in a street brawl against Whisper. Sonic gets involved and taunts the tenrec while Tails escorts Whisper to a safer location away from the fighting.
They continue fighting in issue #54 until Sonic leads her into a trap constructed by Tails. Drained of all of her energy, she falls unconscious. Before Sonic and Tails can celebrate their victory, however, Kitsunami rushes to her aid and carries her away, warning both Sonic and Tails to not follow. Kitsunami takes Surge back to the late Dr. Starline's base where she awakes. She briefly hallucinates Starline taunting her, growing more and more frightened. When Kit hugs her, breaking the spell, she pats him on the head, promising to enact revenge, which cheers him up.
Of course, Sonic and Tails do, in fact, follow them, leading to more fighting, until, in issue #56 after Surge states that she will never be free as long as Sonic is alive, she falls unconscious and is carried off by Kitsunami again.
The next time Surge appears, which is in issue #67, she is sitting down at a table in Restoration HQ, peacefully eating food with Amy Rose. Sonic is shocked that she's not causing mayhem and she explains that she took him up on his offer back in issue #50 to 'have a do-over'. However, her true intention does not lie with the cause of Restoration HQ but with Clutch the Opossum, who wanted her and Kitsunami to infiltrate the headquarters and await his orders once she was inside. Naturally, Sonic is still somewhat suspicious of her.

Sonic and Surge have naturally been at odds with one another. Fans who like this pairing might interpret Surge as a boisterous tsundere and Sonic as long-suffering and patient but able to fix her in the end. Since Surge is an IDW-exclusive character, there are a lot of rival ships for Sonic, such as Sonadow and Sonamy. The most popular rival ships for Surge are Kiturge and Surgamy.
